I installed my Redline hood struts today and noticed this hole...this is the driver's side, I'm assuming a grommet is missing? Not sure it really matters, but 2022 2 door Wildtrak

Yeah there should be a rubber plug there.

On the 2.3L that hole in the firewall is occupied by brake system. 2.7L its just a rubber plug.

I tried to find the thread where someone else asked the same question but can't find it. It's not in the catalogue under the plugs section. Have to go out and get the engineering number off of one in the shop.

I thought it is for the clutch, not the brakes. 🤷‍♂️

I believe that is incorrect. Instead that hole is filled by the parts for the clutch pedal and reservoir on manual transmission vehicles.

All of the plugs and grommets have a section but no, they decide to put this in the powertrain category.

I just went out and looked at it.

It is indeed for the clutch. My bad. The line is connected to the brake reservoir, so I just assumed it was for the brakes. The 2.3L has a vacuum brake boost while the 2.7L has an electronic brake boost so it all made sense in my head that they would be different. BUT, the once you look at it, it's pretty obvious the clutch shares its reservoir with the rest of the brake system.
