Hey everyone, new member. Picked up a 2022 Big Bend last week. The six speaker system is lacking at best so I put in a mini sub today. I'm not a fan of putting a sub in the rear cargo area with the top down and easy access (lesson learned from my younger days with a jeep where my sub got stolen), so I wanted something discrete to fit under the seat. Finding something that would work with 4 door was difficult until I stumbled across this Pioneer TS-WS010A mini sub. This combined with replacing the four 4" speakers with Alpine S-S40 was perfect. I made a video of the sub install. I'm no Scorsese but hopefully it helps. Thanks to all those who post on here because the information from everyone else's efforts was incredibly helpful.
-In the video I forgot to note the wires I tapped into: Left Midrange-Blue (+) and Gray-Brown Stripe (-), Right Midrange - Yellow-Orange Stripe (+) and Green-Brown Strip (-)

I’m curious about the sound. I assume there’s some improvement in base over stock. How happy are you with it?

I’m pretty happy with it. I’m not a bass head looking to rattle windows, just looking to enjoy good sound while I’m driving. I was surprised at the amount of bass this little thing puts out, particularly with the low power draw this has

This could be the path I take. I just need a small amount of filler bass to round out my music. Love the fact I don’t need a dedicated battery cable run.

How you still liking? Would this fit under a seat that has high package and leather trim?

Exactly what I was looking for; great find. For the record, the item number for the unit is TS-WX010A.

Sorry about the model number mix up. Not sure about fitting on the high package, mine doesn't have the power seat option so I don't know about the clearance with the power seat module under there.

How are the S40 speakers? Looking for ones that are not too bright or high but more warm sounding

I think they would be what you are looking for. I saw other videos where people installed bass blockers on them. I didn’t and thought they sounded pretty good. Noticeable improvement over stock.

How do you route wires from the passenger to the driver side?
You can easily run speaker wire from the passenger kick panel to the other side by following the lining of the floor upholstery up near where your feet would be placed while seated.

You can tuck the wire underthe lining, continue towards the driver side until you hit the lower center console. There is a small gap there where you can push the wire through to the other side. This may require a few attempts to get it through, a flashlight definitely helps.

When you do end up on the other side, just follow the floor upholstery lining over to the driver side kick panel, and route through there the rest of the way.

I’ll put up a pic for reference when I can take one.

Also @rtd16 thanks a lot for posting this!

I also didn’t want to put a sub in my cargo area, or under the rear seats. If you install a sub in the cargo area you lose the ability to store the doors in there.

Your suggestion for this small sub is perfect. It lines up exactly to the left of the driver side floor vent. It’s got decent bump and is exactly what I wanted to fill the lack of lows in my sound setup.

The video with your fuse placements and colored wires helped a ton too. I had already used the fuses you suggested for my dashcam hardwire, but I said screw it and split the taps. No overload issues so far!

only note I have on the video (which is my fault for not double checking) is the fuse add a tap on the seat in the beginning (HHH ATM) Is not the right one. Seems to be for a much larger fuse than the ones you’re tapping into.

Great find @rtd16

I’m going for the passenger side on this one. Generally, the further the sub is from the listener, the better. Your female passengers will also appreciate the placement.

Good catch. I did grab both sizes because I wasn't sure exactly which was going to work for the fuse spots, but the right size for the slots I used is "ATR" not "ATM"
