Ran across this video.

States that because of the Bronco classification, head impact is rated at 15mph vs 12mph for all the airbag coverings on rails(roof). Stated they needed softer materials. Safe to assume they used the same soft plastic elsewhere and that’s why it scratches so easily.
Some other great points in this video. In particular the wash out interior with secondary passive drains under covering.

Nice find. The plastic interior pieces certainly do scratch easily!

The dash plastic sure doesn’t feel very soft to me.

All the black plastics like console, door sills, door panels and rear quarters sure do.
I sure hope your head is not making frequent contact with the door sils 😏

I think the concern would be hard plastics becoming shrapnel when the airbag explodes.

Started watching video and gave up when the masks showed up.
I didn’t care for that either. Maybe it was recorded during those dreaded times.

Right? People wheeling outdoors with masks on...harkens me back to the pure insanity that was our world. People are sheeple!

Maybe there is something worth watching in that old video, but I just can't watch a grown man standing outside by himself wearing a mask.

Thanks for posting, I like hearing from the teams behind the bronco and the unique challenges they face trying to adhere to modern standards.
