Never said they were not working but around here, most new car lots have 30 or less new vehicles on them. Pull into a lot and 50 sales reps come out and want to sell you something. If most new cars are orders, and you have ordered a vehicle, a good sales rep should be following through every step of the process and keeping up with the changes to the industry and communicating that to the customer. Since my order is a dealer order, not an early reservation, and does not show up on ford.com, I call them monthly for updates. I have a good sales rep and not all sales people are bad, but seems that after it's ordered, no one cares until it's time to sign the paperwork. Would it hurt a dealership to have a rotation of sales reps to do daily or weekly checks for their outstanding orders?100% not the case. I sold more vehicles in 21’ than in 19’ or 20’. If your sales rep is not communicating with you, you should find someone else. I agree there is no reason for not communicating but to say we (salesman) have nothing but time is extremely inaccurate. Do I have down time absolutely but can I sit around all day and do nothing? Only if I hate money!
Please don’t take this the wrong way, I am just simply stating that good salesman value customer service and Want to take care of ALL of their customers, the ones that are in front of them and future customers that have orders arriving! Instead of making an ignorant blanket statement and posting to an online forum, call text or email your salesman. Better yet go into the dealership and speak to them directly. If he /she is any good he/she will be glad to assist!
