I heard the same thing from my dealer today. 12/14 build date, 12/16 in production, nothing since then. Pizza tracker showed estimated delivery of 12/31, now 1/30. Dealer says his system shows estimated ETA of 2/5 due to chip shortage.

Didn't they come out like mid 2021 and say they had stockpiled chips for the Bronco and that wouldn't be the issue?

This is not just a Ford Thing.

I had originally ordered a Honda Ridgeline at the end of June. The build date was pushed 6 times, all due to Chip issues. The local Honda Dealership does not have any new vehicles on the lot. They only have Used.

The Honda dealership(Don Wessel Honda) has been a family owned business for over 40 years. Because of the Chip issue and getting vehicles built to sell, last month they had to sell the dealership to a franchise.

The same thing happened to another local Ford Dealership. Republic Ford sold out to Corwin Ford.
Gus Johnson Ford in Spokane WA just sold out to Corwin Ford as well

The chatter in the build week threads today(1/25) its about delivery delays. Many are experiencing delivery delays to February 28. And I am one of them. I wanted to pass along that my dealer indicated it was a microchip delay. He showed me his order log for my vehicle which had a note on the recent delivery delay. “Micro chip delay”. Real bummer to add to fuel to the fire of many issues.

*** adding some other detail ***
from the trends we are seeing on the build week data, Ford seems to have prioritized the convey orders for the delays. Thus perhaps shorter routes would be easier and quicker to handle the chip install. It’s all makes little sense but trying.
Your dealer is wrong. FORD already stated in the early stages of production that they purchased enough chips to meet the production of the reservations role out. The delays have been Covid -19 related and MIC issues but chips are not one of them.

Is there a reliable way to see if I've been added to that list? Ford tracker not loading my stuff today (it's hit or miss every day), and I'm assuming the window sticker I can see that has not changed will give no indicator? Blend date is Friday.
No

Agreed!! I even went out and bought the Auto Start-Stop Eliminator and got it delivered about 5 months ago! If the elimination of the ASS chip would get it delivered now, id even PAY them to not put it in!
He said ass chip!!!

Maybe. But it’s definitely on the log ford sent to the dealer. It’s seem logical on the manner it was applied. Many got a delay with upcoming deliveries and all got the same new delivery. Ford changed mostly convoy orders in that can be switched and shipped quicker than rail. The recent orders are 50-50 on the tops and no trends there. So your reasons don’t fit.

To those now on chip hold, what does your dealership tracking status say?
Has anyone shown "Released" but now on chip hold?
Are all of your modules popped? Some missing?

It's going to get down to 4 degrees F here in SE Michigan tonight, with a high of around 16 degrees tomorrow. Hope those batteries on all those on hold vehicles don't freeze up from sitting....🥶

Not surprising. Would be nice if they would just communicate with us.
This communication can and should come from your sales rep. 100% on your dealer. You can’t really expect Ford to communicate every chip delay. Your dealer has the information. Contact them. There will be an ETA

Agree with the dealer communications statement. One would think that due to shortage of automobiles on the lots, dealers would have nothing but time to communicate with customers regarding their orders.
100% not the case. I sold more vehicles in 21’ than in 19’ or 20’. If your sales rep is not communicating with you, you should find someone else. I agree there is no reason for not communicating but to say we (salesman) have nothing but time is extremely inaccurate. Do I have down time absolutely but can I sit around all day and do nothing? Only if I hate money!

Please don’t take this the wrong way, I am just simply stating that good salesman value customer service and Want to take care of ALL of their customers, the ones that are in front of them and future customers that have orders arriving! Instead of making an ignorant blanket statement and posting to an online forum, call text or email your salesman. Better yet go into the dealership and speak to them directly. If he /she is any good he/she will be glad to assist!

So they purchased all of them and put them in a shoe box until they need them? Or maybe they contracted to have them produced over time as them need them and something could have happened and they are not available for a period of time?
