My 3yr/36k warranty ends in 3 weeks, so my plan is to just Line-X the whole top sometime in the next few months.

Would love to know how the Line-X turns out, including some pics! A layer of Line-X 65 mils + thick oughta help toughen up the MIC top.

They then asked if i had pictures of the crack on the rear potion
Curious, was the cracking on the surface of the MIC top, or does it also go all the way through to the inside?

Cracking was only visible on the outside surfaces. It'd probably take a long time to see cracks all the way through.

I went to the local dealership @ 35k miles with honeycomb and a couple of small bubbles in the clamshell, among other warranty issues. All were approved, then magically the roof was denied. Dealership said call FORD for details. Ford said check with dealership. Finally made some headway yesterday, lucky for me the dealership is under new management and I'm hoping a resolution is clear.

I was wondering the same thing the OP, as well if the noise insulation was removed and reused or new with the replacement top.

when i got my MIC replaced they only replaced the rear most panel. Even though I expressed concern with the honeycombing on the front panels, they said they dont classify that as a warranty issue. They do reuse the glass from your old top and put it in your new one. Keep in mind, if you have the felt insulated interior for the hard top, make sure that is specifically called out in the request. My dealer didnt mention it and the hard top did not come with the felt. They had to order it after the fact and set up another appointment with me to install that.

Curious... do they replace the entire top or just the panel that has the defect?

I assume the latter, but never actually bothered looking into it.
Only the cracked ones. My two front panels are original the rear 2 are new and color is off and the original top is only a yr old. Oh well

Dealer finally reached out this morning and my claim has been approved, again. She didn't get into specifics about how or why, but she did say that Ford is looking for specific issues before they approve and make sure it's not 'user error', since they've replaced a ton of these tops. For reference, my cracking was above all three windows on the rear portion and on the front panels where they join. Also, I had some 'bubbling' on the sides of the front panels right above the windows.
