Generally, for me, a mall crawler is a build focused on how it looks without regard to how it performs. Most often found is a large lift with 20" wheels without considering the suspension angles and the tires rub. Bumpers that look like they would collapse if someone blew on them wrong or with recovery points that make promises that they simply could never keep.
Best, most accurate post in a long and interesting thread.
Well spoken!

When wondering what someone thinks, ask yourself would you even be friends with that person? The guys that bring up a 2dr every time they post, the guys that lose their mind over "tech" in their new 2022 vehicle, the ones that yap endlessly about a manual transmission. Probably not, they seem like high maintenance people.
It turns out it's the transmission itself which is high maintenance. Too soon? 😄

What dealer did you use?
I was with Granger until last month when i was notified my Bronco would likely not get built in 2023 with the options I wanted. 2.5 years after I made the reservation. I cancelled my order and recently signed a purchase agreement for a Bronco at a Wisconsin dealer. Still waiting on it to get built.

Is it just me, or are many of you offended when the term “Mall Crawler” is used to describe your beloved ride? Just because I didn’t buy my Bronco to go hard core off reading ALL THE TIME and I choose to dress it up to make it my own, doesn’t make it a mall crawler. I bought it for may reasons. I always make all of my rides somewhat uniquely mine. Wheels, tires, exhaust etc. My ride may be a “Neighborhood Nuisance”, a “Drag Strip Diva”, or a ”Highway Hauler”, but it sure the hell isn’t a mall crawler.
Honestly no, I don't really care what anybody thinks about what I do with my Bronco. In all probability my Wildtrak will see very little off road time even though it is quite capable.

If people wanna call it a Mall Crawler or Pavement Queen or whatever then have at it, I will be smiling the whole time I drive it!

Op is offended because Iowa doesn't have a real mall. It's a real shame because I use to have to drive north out of Iowa to take the wife to the Mall of America. At least they had a Benihanas and I could go to Bass Pro Shops on the way home.

Mine will be at a "mall" tomorrow. Taking my daughter to get a dress. Just so no one gets confused, I plan on taking speed bumps without slowing and parking with at least one wheel on a curb

The term doesn't really bother me personally. I've always owned performance cars and this is the first SUV I've owned. I've never had an interest in off-roading. I bought the bronco because I was looking for something with 4wd to get me over the mountain road to work in bad weather and my fiancé and I wanted something that could be a convertible to go cruising in, since I sold my motorcycle. if I put some stuff on it to make it look cool and don't off road it, I guess its a mall crawler. I'm ok with that, sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.

If the term offends you that much you’re spending too much time thinking about it

Mall Crawler is a derogatory title but its all in jest or just for fun.
Kinda like when an over-lifted jeep parks next to me and I say, "nice Fiat"....(Fiat or FCA is the parent company of Jeep) it all in good fun.

Mall Crawler is a fitting term for many. I took my Badland offroad the first week I got it, but its pretty much been a "garage queen" since. Hopefully, the Spring thaw will get me back out.

Honestly, the thought of cleaning it after wheeling is one reason i don't go more often.... Lazy, I guess.

Mine is a mall crawler, never driven in rain and will never go off-road. When somebody else starts paying for it I'll let them dictate its use.
But Compta, you live off a dirt road, don’t that count for something? :ROFLMAO:

If you’re from or live in the Great Sovereign State of Alabama, then by birthright, you have cred as a real wheeler or tough guy, cause ALABAMA!

I prefer "Pavement Princess" but that's just me
