Well, mine had the same issue - mostly after having knee surgery - so I threw one of these in the back. Then I started thinking that was a pretty good idea instead of steps at all. All the ground clearance you can get and convenient for her use - and you can't beat the price.

Milk crate and a rope works too! Back in the 70’s, GMC Jimmy with 6 inch lift and 33” monster mudders necessitated this for a pregnant 5 footer!
