Are you sure it didn’t fall out of your pocket, and slide between the seat and center console? I say that because I thought I lost my key. I figured I was going to have to get a new key too. I couldn’t find it anywhere. Before I did anything, I pushed the start button, and it fired up. I knew then the fob was somewhere in the Bronco. Finally found it, LOL!

And nearly impossible to retrieve!!

Can we reprogram an used key off ebay or are they one time use?

Update: I ordered a used Ford keyfob for $17 that looked line ours. Today, I received it and reprogrammed it in my driveway following the instructions in the owner's manual.
It took a few attempts but it worked. Now I have two working key fobs in my safe in case a key is lost. No need to go to the dealer.

met a guy that works at the ford dealer that was able to program the remote for free($40 tip) so in the end I got away with about $110s for a lost key.

Careful! Have purchased fobs on ebay before and have never been successful programming them. Even the locksmiths were unsuccessful. Took them to the dealer - again no luck. Best bet is to suck it up and buy it programmed from Ford.
