I’m looking for any recommendations for a 2.5 lb fire extinguisher mount that fits on the back of the roll bar in a 2-door. I can find universal Velcro mounts, but the spacing seems kinda tight so I want to see what others have done before gambling on guesses.

This is about the most that will fit and still be accessible. I moved it as low as possible to make it easier to remove, so it just barely clears the strut when the window is closed. I used a universal quick release that mounts with padded hose clamps.

Are these mounts rattle free?

I can’t abide adding any additional noise to my beloved 2Door. 😆😎😆

The one I ended up with does rattle over bumps, but I think some felt tape will quiet it down. Haven’t tried yet.

Good luck. Did you purchase the mount in the link above? Cheers.

Have this plus their cam-lock quick release - not for the roll bar and not cheap, but very secure and quiet. I have other under-seat extinguishers for other cars (the typical thin aluminum, which is where the rattles come from) and this is much nicer with the cam lock which is silent next to the extinguisher. It also stays out of sight. Also a big fan of their phone mounts.

I realize mine is a rear Molle mount. But it was free! Just Velcro straps. Rock Solid.
Here's the Thread with some other ideas as well...

I gave up on roll bar mount due to the lack of space. Went with the Amazon one I have seen a couple others post mounted to my M2M cargo shelf. Rattles can be cured by putting the soft side of some adhesive Velcro strips on the part that holds the extinguisher.
