Just curious if anyone has LineX (or equivalent) sprayed their skid plate(s)? Doesn't matter if it's OEM or aftermarket. Just curious how it turned out, and if there were any issues putting it back together on the vehicle (assuming you removed them for the coating).

I've purchased a set of steel skid plates for my truck and am considering having this done before installation.

Thanks in advance!

I linex’d my skid, bumper trim, and tow hooks on my braptor. I haven’t installed them back in yet though.

I’m curious how this would look too though I wonder if more stuff would catch on it?

I thought about that too - Obviously not covering it would make it more slippery. However it should make them even stronger, and less susceptible to rust (scratches, road debris, etc.).

Would love to see some examples from folks who have done this and some real-world experience to weigh the pros and cons.

All of my forward facing skids are Bullet lined, along with the @Brave Offroad Designs bumper. The @Mabett aluminum trans skid is just painted, I believe.

Alaska uses gravel for road sand, and I'm not about the "hanging rusty bridge truss" for a front bumper look.

When it gets the equivalent to a shotgun in the face all winter, it needs more than even the heaviest powdercoat will ever be able to offer.

Ignore the anti-seize everywhere, this was the install that finally made me switch to the food grade anti-seize.

The only different maintenance is just hitting it with a tire brush and some 303 after your tires are done in the car wash process.

That looks really good - Thanks for sharing the pictures!

I assume you had them sprayed off the vehicle, and re-installed? Any issues with them not installing as easily as before they were sprayed? Sorry for the dumb question, I just wasn't sure if adding a thick layer of "stuff" on top of it messed with the fitment at all.

For my DV8 metal fender liners I sprayed them myself with raptor liner, gave them a nice finish, and didn't change the dimensions.

Hey, I use Bed Liner spray an have sprayed the undercarriage, AFCs fender liners, skid plates, inside of bumpers. Haven't sprayed the control arms bcuz I have the Mid package to install.

If you are considering raw aluminum skid plates you need to prep n prime them before spraying.

It's not a dumb question, since every liner type has different thickness sprays.

I took the pallet everything was shipped on (the Brave bumper comes with the other two skids pictured) straight to my bedliner guy from the freight warehouse. No test fitment or anything, so I didn't really have a baseline. Also, I got the bumper before there were any actual instructions, so that was a long night of repeated discoveries, multiple installs and removals, and swearing.

There is some post-bedliner fitment that is off slightly, nothing insurmountable, the parking sensors were probably the trickiest to deal with seating correctly. Depending on the material used, bedliner can usually be scraped off or cut away for real clearance issues.
