Latest FordPass App Update

I noticed an addition to the FordPass app. “Trailer Light Check” is a feature that I found to be really handy. I upgraded my BD standard R/T/B lights and my reverse lights to LED’s. I’m 62 and a little overweight so pushing the brake pedal and dashing to the rear to see if they’re working properly is nearly impossible. This little tool allows you to cycle through R/T/B and backup light functions without a trailer connected while standing outside the vehicle. Thanks Ford. (Now put the window drop function back in please)

I had the Factory hitch installed about 3 weeks ago. I got excited when the latest version of the Ford Pass app came but I didn't get the trailer light check when the hitch was installed and it doesn't show in the updated app. One of the reasons I went with the factory hitch is for this specific feature. Pretty pissed off about it.

Hmmm... I am running v5.8.2 and don't see any Trailer Light Check in the app. I have signed out/in. Does it only show up if a trailer is connected?

Can’t be. I have nothing to tow.

Well, my trailer isn't here so can't check that. It doesn't really matter much as I don't use it often. Mainly for taking SxS in for service or hauling pine needles to the green waste site. But sounds like a useful feature.

I'm pissed because the factory hitch cost more than double what I could have gotten an aftermarket hitch for. I am moving and connecting trailers fairly often and enough that this feature would have been an awesome thing to be able to use. My brother also has a Bronco with factory hitch and has the light check option which is why I went with the Ford hitch in the first place.

I have FordPass v5.8.2.

My latest update version is 5.8.0 for android. I also live in Canada so maybe your version is country dependent but the Google play listing states that the trailer light check has been re-enabled. It would have been nice!!!

I wish they would return the function to turn on the perimeter lights from the app. I used that often. Not sure why they removed it.

Are you sure you have the latest version of the app? Open the app, click on the account icon in the upper right then scroll to the bottom. Version number is there. I have an iPhone 15 pro max. That might be the difference.
