Lane centering on 2022 Bronco

Am I doing something wrong? I have a 2022 late arrival ( black Friday) 2dr lux badlands. The lane centering does not seem to keep me in the lane. Lite is lit on dash, but will wonder off to side. Adaptive cruse seams ok. My Bronco sport that I traded in was fantastic. With hands-on the wheel you could feel it steering for you. Do I have something not turned on in setup? Hate to to take to dealer and find that out. Settings show both alerts set to medium. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like it's working as it should... It's not supposed to be for hands-free driving. If your hands aren't on the steering wheel it will stop working because it's just an aid, not a drive the vehicle for you feature.

It's really lane keep assist. Itb tried to gently nudge back into the lane. Most of the time I don't even notice it.

I too traded a loaded Sport and I really miss lane centering. Also the automatic cruise with speed sign detection.

Bronco offers Lane Keeping not Lane Centering. You're essentially a pinball.

Check the settings on your screen. You have a few options. Off completely, warn only, or nudge.

In the middle case, it won't auto-steer, but the screen should still tell you you're over the line. If both lines are green (detecting the edges of the lane), the one you cross over should turn orange, then red. If it isn't doing that, have a passenger take a video to post here or just take it to your dealer. They should either have their service department take a look, or have their best salesperson finish their "pre-delivery orientation" if it's working as intended.

It is just an aid. It will steer a little bit not a lot. Check you instrument cluster settings though, and make sure it's set to aid or aid and alert.

I was having wondering issues, minor darting, especially on long gentle sweeping turns, like something was loose in the front end?

I am an old fart or so my kids tell me....so I am very familiar with old wore front ends on old cars & that is the "feeling" I was experiencing. I finally take it to the dealer & they couldn't find anything wrong.

I explained to them I was not hallucinating & there was something wrong! I asked if they even drove the bronco, it's pretty obvious there is a problem......

so, they had their best geriatric whisperer sit down with me & start from the beginning, when did I first notice this occuring, etc. was I sleeping well, anything going in my life that could be stressful, etc.

I mention it started when I turned lane assit on at aout 7k miles, they said they turned that off to trouble shoot it......on the way back to the garage.

They suggested I take the bronco as is & give them a call if I experiance these hallucinations again. Grrrrrr.

I took the bronco home & instantly realized the front end was fine, the lane keeping assist is what was causing my discomfort. The dealer never felt what I was feeling, so they assume that it is all the problem was.

I now suspect, there is an issue with the lane assist? no idea what? sensor? software? I have no idea; I can't believe it is supposed to work this way? Yet, I don't care, it is turned off, my problem went away & I am not giving up this awesome ride for another day unless I have to, I don't need no stinking lane assist BS.

Yup, like other said, your Bronco has the ancient lane keep system, not the modern lane centering your sport had. Its pretty worthless aid, pinball for sure.

The Ford Pass app explanation posted above answered my concern. My wife’s Volvo has the lane keeping assist that nudges you back if you start drifting, but you need to have your hands on the wheel or an alarm will go off to wake you up before the lane assist feature is turned off. It’s not like pinball, it’s just some resistance on the wheel that gently pulls you back into the lane. Sure when you first experience it feels like a bump, but after a couple times it doesn’t feel like an intrusion on your control. On long trips it’s terrific. Not because you’re relying on it to keep you from losing control, and not because you can stop paying attention. It’s just a little extra muscle on the wheel that assists you and wards off driving fatigue.

I tried using it for the first time in the Bronco last night, and the damn thing let me drift right into the shoulder with nothing but a red light warning on my dash. I was pretty mad. What good is a warning light to tell you your vehicle has left the lane? But according to that Ford Pass description above, I must be on the “Alert Mode” instead of “Aid Mode.” Hopefully that’s my issue. If not, I’m gonna be pretty pissed that Ford is marketing a worthless light on a dashboard in its Lux package as a “co-pilot” feature.

Yes that’s what I used. But if your settings are on “Alert Mode” only and not in “Aid Mode,” then all you are going to get is an alert but no actual steering wheel “bump.” At least, that’s according to the Ford Pass description above. Have not played with my settings yet.

Yes of course. You have to have aid turned on to get aid.
