3 yrs is plenty of time
(I have owned the Bronco for 9 mos.) Well, unlike you, perhaps, I have many things to do with my time than RTFM. Of which of course, there was no paper copy to peruse. I know what your next comment will be...

Forgot to mention in my prior post…
When I had to use the mechanical key to gain entry to my Bronco because the fob was not recognized either by keyless entry or fob button press, that set off the car alarm horn and triggered an “Unauthorized entry” warning until I was able to place the fob in the console depression.

Got my Bronco back home and played around with the key fob which was now working normally again, looking for low fob battery warnings but there were none. And the fob worked normally again with the vehicle. Weird juju. 🤨

Put new batteries in all three of my fobs just to be safe.

Could have tried global window down - press unlock button on fob then press and hold unlock button for 5 seconds

Would still have to use that under carpet fob space to start the vehicle. I’ve had to do it out in the middle of Death Valley. Was a bit freaky being 2200 miles from home, trying to get back to Lone Pine before dark, with a vehicle that wouldn’t find the key fob
Under the carpet? I guess I don't know the location we're talking about. Can someone clarify?

There is a little removable "carpet" at the bottom of the center console that you pull out to reveal the indent. Perhaps it is that to which the poster is referring.

I hate prox keys. With my Nissan it created problems which don't happen with a physical key.
If this is your car with a prox key a logical question would be "What do I do if the battery is dead?"
I did a simple search for "key not found bronco" and it explained the backup RFID slot. Even if I had no data service, but voice call ability I would've called a friend and had them search for the answer before calling Ford.

What I have found with my other cars and a couple times with the Bronco is if you have your fob in the same pocket as your phone, the phone interferes with the signal, and the vehicle can't detect the fob. Move either one to another pocket, or take the phone (or fob) out of your pocket and the Bronco "sees" the fob.

I have an iPhone, don't know if that's also the case with Android phones.
