Just wheel the damned thing. Anything that breaks can be fixed. Drive it smart and breakage isn't that likely. I've been beating the piss out of a Base 2-door with no lockers and a measley M190 front end for almost 2 years now and I haven't broken anything yet.
I have other wheeling options. Can I replace a rack or TRE’s? Yeah. But as personal preference id much rather smash and grind the sheet metal on an old 4Runner than a new anything.

We may have different ideas of what it means to wheel the piss out of something. Maybe not. Where do you wheel?

I daily my TRX for work. I use the 2 door for gym and running around town with the top off. And my wife and I also do road trips in it.

California, Utah, Colorado. We don't have much mud but lots of rocks. I also have other options, mainly an Early Bronco on full widths, spool and ARB and 37's, 5.8l EFI, etc. But I've found the little Base Bronco to be fun and challenging.

Stop letting the Internet scare you out of having fun.

I’m not sure where you’re getting your information on what kinda fun I’m having but I can assure you you’re wrong. You are reading too many threads with people bitching about breaking tie rod ends and thinking that’s what I’m saying.

Again I’ll say, I’m not really wanting to wad up a 60k bronco when I can do it in a 6k 4Runner. I’m also proposing to run it in ultra4 which means immediately stripping it and wading it up, but I’m almost finished with a 4500 car and can only really drive 1 at a time.

either way I think you have me confused for a lot of guys going camping.

Drop it off at the dealer to have it fixed.

As a group you guys are pretty dull. “Trade it for a 4 door family sedan” the most common response by a wide margin.

Misery loves company.

Maybe a DD/primitive camping rig is what's missing in your life?

Na I’m pretty much out of overlanding. My family went camping all the time when I was a kid. Because we wanted to go do stuff but we were too poor for a hotel. Camping was just how we were able to sleep adjacent to some recreation we wanted to do. Now when I go camping it’s because there’s no hotels on the rubicon or similar scenario. I hate camping. I like doing things that kinda require it.
