Yeah I got used to just leaving the keys in it when I first start it to warm up or just leaving the door ajar slightly.Strange, my manual has never done it and I've warmed it up with keys in my pocket in the house many times.

Yep. Ford has us trained to leave the key in the car with it running (or leave the door open) every time we get out of the car for any reason. That's good practice...Yeah I got used to just leaving the keys in it when I first start it to warm up or just leaving the door ajar slightly.
I'd really love to say, how is it possible to not realize your vehicle is running? But I dated someone once that left her car running for a couple hours while she ran an errand. It's there to remind you that you are walking away from the vehicle powered on, with the key.
I presume Canukistan models play a voice message along the lines of "I'm terribly sorry to bother you eh, but you seem to be leaving with your keys eh"This post makes me want to see what happens when I exit the vehicle with it running.
I guess I'm a risk taker... We'll see.
SameAm I the only one that's never had a double honk happen and couldn't care less?
We had a guy at wok do the same except it was for the whole work day. Needless to say the poor guy almost ran out of fuel. Never was an issue till cars started to switch to push button start.I'd really love to say, how is it possible to not realize your vehicle is running? I have only had this happen when I leave the key in the car and its in park and running. I think.Am I the only one that's never had a double honk happen and couldn't care less?

I know if I leave the running car in park with the key in my pocket it doesn't honk.
Yeah I only know this because I have been to lazy to get a new garage door opener so will hop out to close the door when I don't feel like waiting on the app.
Should be the opposite...
