Looking for some advice or help here.

My Bronco has been sitting in the shop for three weeks now after a suspension upgrade, which also included installing a new steering rack. The issue? The recalibration software isn’t cooperating.

The mechanic followed all the steps. The voucher was registered and linked to my account.

He also downloaded the software and plugged in the ProCal. It correctly recognized the ProCal, my VIN, and the stock tune file. But as soon as he logs into Ford Performance to retrieve the calibration, I get the calibration error screen.

He’s been going back and forth with Ford support, but the process is super slow and hasn’t led anywhere.

Anyone out there run into this before? Or maybe @Ford Motor Company can step in and help? I miss my Bronco—and summer’s flying by.

Call the Ford Performance tech line. I'm guessing that's who your mechanic is talking to, but they're the best resource.

Yes, he’s been going back and forth for a couple of weeks, including emails. No luck…

Known issue, particularly for folks that had the ProCal Performance Tune prior to attempting the rack upgrade.

If you can get the FP Techs to respond, they can often remote into your laptop and push a file and get it to work. But you gotta get to that step.

Otherwise... you need to use the BMB method of programming racks, which is unofficial and a dealer isn't likely to offer to do so, but works every time. There are numerous threads around here detailing how to do this with Forscan + FDRS

As I know he should do the performance tune, but not sure if he has done it or not. Will ask.

He hasn't done it yet (performance tune). Can it be somehow related to previous ForScan modifications?

Not likely. The ProCal device as a software delivery tool is pretty half baked. I doubt it was anything you did

I can't remember the thread, but it helped me through mine. Something about not updating the version. I responded on the thread once mine was done.

Wish I had some to share, took to a Ford dealer shop and tech said kept calling Ford performance back and forth and trying options until got it right. So I guess, persistence?! I don’t know. Clearly given number of folks having hard time with, seems like something that could use some help from Ford to improve.

Can you please describe how you did it? I mean, did you just bring the ProCal device to the dealer, they worked it out with Ford support over the phone, and then you took it back and did the calibration? Or was it something different? Just trying to explore options—my mechanic is getting cold on this, and I’m not seeing any movement from his side anymore.
