So I had my hood, lower grill piece, A pillar and partial fender PPF done on the bronco. The finishing on my edges isn’t acceptable right? Or am I being picky? I feel like this is the start to it peeling off eventually. Film is XPEL and was done at a shop.

No no no. Unfortunately this is not a professional installation. Please tell me it was a xpel certified location? All locations that are certified are on the xpel website. Normally the place advertises it. I am going to assume they gave you a hell of a deal and thats why you went with them. It's hard to tell sometimes and with those "amazing price" places...you dont really know until after the fact orrrr if they have examples to look at. Like a social media platform or website.

Depends on how much you paid. Looks like crap to me, but you can't expect Nordstrom service at Walmart prices.

That looks like a dealership installed it to pad ADM. I wouldn't accept it.

Absolutely not. I have full expel stealth and my installer put it on and then even had me back in a week later to make sure there weren’t any pieces he missed. It’s not perfect but it’s damn close

Sub par installation yes but, I don’t think the edges are going to come up - that $hit is sticky and when properly cured should be OK

The back edge in the small valley is lifting, the installer should have flushed that area with hot distilled water and made sure it was locked down before letting the car go. The front pass fender looks like the installer got sloppy with his blade and cut into the paint and trimmed the film too short, should have wrapped the edge and done relief cuts on the corner and bend at the very least. I would go back to that shop and see if they can fix it, worst case they remove the piece on the fender and redo it because I can’t imagine they could pull it back and stretch it over the edge. I work in a PPF and Tint shop, I wouldn’t let either of these issues go. Likely used a pattern on the fender and either misaligned the fender or didn’t extend the pattern for the edge wrap. Just communicate with the shop and see if they can address the issues.

This was at a certified place with great reviews. I did go back to have them touch it up a week after but am just now noticing these edges and under the hood. Sounds like it definitely should be better. I’ll be going back to them to have it redone.

Looks like it could have been done better and for the price of what I’m seeing that go for, it should be perfect. But I don’t get why not just wrap the car instead as you can pick any color you want for the same price as the ppf?

No, no, no! And don’t let them simply just wet it and try matting it down again. All the pieces need to come up. I had my first PPF look similarly and the installer insured me over time, heat, etc it would be fine. It never was. Started to discolor and get worse. Found a new place and never had a issue with now 5 vehicles that have been wrapped.

You paid plenty, get what you paid for.

yeah I just got back from the shop and set up a follow up appointment. They want to try mat it down and mentioned cutting the edges that are not adhered… I’m gonna go back and talk to the owner because I don’t think that’s the right fix.

Shit job. Make them tear it off and start over. My dealer who said no add ons came with $399 tint. CRAP. I said I wanted Ceramic. They wanted $100 more. OK fine. Got it back with bubbles and it is not ceramic. I said tear it off and do it right or I want my $500 back. They also so still owe be my $600 deposit they never applied to my purchase which is theft in my book. BY the dealer and Ford.
