Is there a setting to completely shut down when you turn the engine off?

...we're reviving 4.5 year old threads now? To discuss something that anyone who has ridden in a newer vehicle should know? My '98 GMC Jimmy did this...
Ouch.

The thread is about disabling the feature; a valid question.

The Search button is my friend. I'm not one to assume I am the first person to have a question about a five year old vehicle and start a new thread without checking the archives to see if it has already been discussed.

A year ago, I traded in my Bronco for a 4Runner. Problem solved!
Actually the 4runner should have the same RAP...(retained Accessory Power) as the Bronco. So.... The issue did not change only you and your expectations did.

At the risk of bringing this thread back on topic :)

5GENIDN added a key piece of information. Turning off the power when you shut down the engine involves changing the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) delay. Doing a little research, this is also called Delayed Accessory Mode. It looks like this may be enabled by pressing the brake pedal a second time. I would have thought this would have been run to ground attempting to extend the time out. Related thread:

Hoping Ragnarkon chimes in on this.

Okay, not to be a smart arse, but there is something seriously wrong if one can’t tell if the engine has been shut off. Place in park ( or neutral if you row your own) foot off brake then push the engine on off button. I realize new things can be weird at first but a few moments understanding what goes on generally solve the dilemma. In fact my wife has recently purchased a Bronco Sport and I admit the first few times having to “ turn a dial” to select the transmission setting took some time to get used to. Yet even I, a certified geezer mastered it. Good luck and enjoy your Bronco.

On topic, those three links are about how to use Forscan (I wanted to type "Foreskin" :ROFLMAO: ) to extend the behavior that annoys the OP and myself at times. I assume however you can set the "Retained Accessory Power (RAP) delay" to zero minutes in forscan so that you can prevent said behavior?

That's what I am hoping. My fingers are crossed someone will chime in on how to configure the RAP delay in Forscan. Looks like it may be a feature of the Body Control Module (BCM).

I tried to extend mine and it didn’t work. Tired of the radio shutting off in 5 minutes while waiting in the parking lot for the wife
