I don't wave and I don't give a duck.ABSOLUTELY! Isn't that what other forums do?
Ouch....we're reviving 4.5 year old threads now? To discuss something that anyone who has ridden in a newer vehicle should know? My '98 GMC Jimmy did this...
but what if you have the doors off?Everything should stop as soon as you open the door if you did in fact turn off the engine/ignition.
A year ago, I traded in my Bronco for a 4Runner. Problem solved!Yup, I'm coming from a 1986 F250 and this drives me crazy.
Actually the 4runner should have the same RAP...(retained Accessory Power) as the Bronco. So.... The issue did not change only you and your expectations did.A year ago, I traded in my Bronco for a 4Runner. Problem solved!
Let's get together, get some tar and feathers (I'll bring the rope) and take care of this heretic.A year ago, I traded in my Bronco for a 4Runner. Problem solved!
At the risk of bringing this thread back on topic
5GENIDN added a key piece of information. Turning off the power when you shut down the engine involves changing the Retained Accessory Power (RAP) delay. Doing a little research, this is also called Delayed Accessory Mode. It looks like this may be enabled by pressing the brake pedal a second time. I would have thought this would have been run to ground attempting to extend the time out. Related thread:

Hoping Ragnarkon chimes in on this.
That's what I am hoping. My fingers are crossed someone will chime in on how to configure the RAP delay in Forscan. Looks like it may be a feature of the Body Control Module (BCM).I assume however you can set the "Retained Accessory Power (RAP) delay" to zero minutes in forscan so that you can prevent said behavior?
I tried to extend mine and it didn’t work. Tired of the radio shutting off in 5 minutes while waiting in the parking lot for the wifeOn topic, those three links are about how to use Forscan (I wanted to type "Foreskin") to extend the behavior that annoys the OP and myself at times.
