Interior Spare Tire Holder

Has anyone fabricated an interior spare-tire holder yet? For the 2-door?

I want to run a spare tire delete kit to give me more towing space, but don’t want to mount the spare on the roof.

On the 2-door, just toss it in the back. It barely fits in there as it is. If you wedge a blanket or something against it, it won't even move.

Strap it down to the tie-downs and the LATCH system on the back of the rear seats

Ya I suppose I will just throw it in the back, and use the trunk tie down hooks. Not much room for anything else anyways.

What are you towing? Why not put it on the trailer some how? Take it off when you tow, then put it back when you are not.

Good question. I want to use a motorcycle hitch carrier. And the spare tire interferes. To reduce lever effect, I need the motorcycle carrier as close to the tailgate as possible.

Which brand of spare delete kit did you go with, and any comments on the install? I have read where certain kits require wiring splicing. I am not relocating my license plate. I want an easy install, and will not be mounting anything else to it like jacks or rotopaks. And any pics?

Thinking of just strapping down the spare in the cargo area, since I don't need the space.
