Hello good folks,
Over the weekend I performed an evaporator cooler flush with some foam cleaner (Kool-It Evaporator and Heater Foam Cleaner) sold for the purpose after a moldy smell had begun issuing from my AC/Heater. I have performed this maintenance on previous vehicles without problem and, for what it's worth, the smell is now gone in my Bronco.
Immediately afterward, however, the AC began working erratically. The AC will cut out when turned to max and at all settings, strangely, function appears to be linked to the throttle. When I have my foot on the throttle at a consistent speed, operation is fine. When I relax the throttle, the AC will immediately cut out for a few seconds and then slowly come back on. When I come to a complete stop, the AC will also again completely cut out and then slowly come back on.
Can the good folks here give some insight to what's going on or ways to investigate what might be the issue?
Before folks start with sarcastic comments, yes, I acknowledge that it was my homegrown handyman actions that led to this situation. I'm simply seeking advice to investigate and fix the error of my ways.
