I’m brand new to the app but I’ve been following on FB for a couple years.
I’m trying to research how to cancel the DTLs and get rid of the annoying door open and seat belt chime. Ideally I’d like to have it on a switch that can turn it off while out hunting and turn it back on once back into civilization. I’ve researched it and can’t find anything in past threads, but that might only be me looking like a man. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

seems like you're asking how to get rid of the seatbelt and door open warning with your doors off. The only way to stop the "vehicle not in park" warning is to put your seatbelt on. If you want to ride around without it, you'd need to get one of those dummy plugs to hook into your seatbelt so the computer thinks its buckled.

I’m thinking the objective is to quiet the vehicle down so as not to disturb the wildlife.

I do believe he just wants to disable the door chimes and double honk while out hunting then be able revert back.

You'll need to download forscan on your laptop, and buy a cable to connect it to the OBD2 port underneath the steering wheel. Then edit the car how you see fit using threads on this forum and YouTube videos.

You can disable start/stop, chimes, double-honk, etc. If you want to reset it back to normal after hunting, just reload it back to a previously saved file.

You're probably not going to get much luck with a "on/off" switch for something like that. Just turn it off permanently with Forscan and call it a day.

This is helpful, I’m newer than a newbie when it comes to forscan. I bought the plug and downloaded the program on a windows machine. The tutorial I watched is somewhat intimidating. Any words from the wise before I turn my Bronco into a very expensive wagon?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

PS I want to quiet the chimes with the doors left on!

I beg to differ that leaving the hunting ground is a return to civilization. Civilization is where you just left from. We return to barbarism.

I'm in the same boat. I have the cable, but haven't made any changes yet either.

The seatbelt chimes can turned off on the touch screen, along with the, check back seat for passengers.

I bought a cable recommended by someone on 6g, and tasked my son with making the changes, while I "supervised" (doublechecked to be sure he was not bricking my Bronco, lol).

We used the spreadsheet from 6g and it was relatively easy. We were able to turn off all the obnoxious honks/beeps/chimes. For me the Bronco is much more enjoyable to operate without that stuff.

I was not able to deactivate the auto start/stop on my 2023 model. I still need to deactivate the security alarm that occasionally goes off for no good reason.

Anyway read up a bit, take your time, back up the modules, and it's relatively easy to make the changes.

Where do I find this spreadsheet?
