Where's that weight coming from with all of the plastics and fiberglass and lack of steel, metal of any kind?

2021 half cab FE , rear seat deleted and beadlocked 41" tires, D60 rear, weight is 5420 lbs .

Here's my 2024 2.7 2 door bl SAS with full tank, me (180 lbs) and 60 lbs of recovery gear. (Before all the front end equipment)

I also used Cat scales- why isn’t yours showing the drive axle weight?

I was there to weight my trailer too. I weighed my trailer and bronco then my Bronco. I have a 2 door and I fit on the whole front platform! I didn't care what weighs what. I just wanted a number as a whole.

The base 2-door curb weight (for 2022 model) is listed as 4,294 lbs. There's no free lunch, it's a balancing act between adding functionality or appearance items, and the performance penalty of the added weight.

Overall it's odd how vehicles have gotten quite heavier over the years, especially given the supposed goals of saving fuel. Curb weight of my 1985 CJ-7 is around 2,700 lbs. My Bronco is 1600 lbs heavier!
