How much does your Bronco weigh?

I just had my 2 Door Bronco 2.3 manual Badlands weighed and was pretty surprised by just how much it weighs following upgrades (winch, heavy bumpers, roof rack, lights, spare tire carrier, Dana 60 axles, 38" tires).

3640 lbs front axle
2240 lbs rear axle
5880 lbs total including 200lbs of driver and gear

A Bronco Raptor weighs 5764lbs by comparison

The base 2-door curb weight (for 2022 model) is listed as 4,294 lbs. There's no free lunch, it's a balancing act between adding functionality or appearance items, and the performance penalty of the added weight.

Overall it's odd how vehicles have gotten quite heavier over the years, especially given the supposed goals of saving fuel. Curb weight of my 1985 CJ-7 is around 2,700 lbs. My Bronco is 1600 lbs heavier!

My Bronco was 4765 with me in it, but it's going to be gaining some weight.

Yes, most if not all vehicles have gotten so much bigger and heavier. How much lighter is a Gen 1 Bronco? My 1970 with 302, Edelbrock manifold, Holly 4 barrel and headers, 3 speed manual was pretty fast and powerful. It was much lighter I believe that the Broncos of today.

Other vehicles too- Just look at the pickups how massive they have become. The new latest Gen Chevys in particular. Front end is a wall, up to my wife's shoulder. My 87 Chevy pickup 4 X 4 is so much different- much higher ground clearance but also 3" or so lower on the front end and height. Honda Civic, Also almost every car- well except the Miata- and I have one- low HP but it's light. Love the smaller lighter cars, Jeeps and trucks. It's all power to weight. That all being said I love my 2022 2 door base Sas. And keeping it stock to keep it light- it moves out good too with the 2.7 and gets respectable 22.7 avg MPG.

For sure. I always check my passport to make sure I am right (according to the govt.)

We own a (non automotive related) company and use our vehicles for business purposes much of the time. And with the tax laws the way they are written if the vehicle is over 6000 lbs GVWR one can accelerate the deprecation on it as opposed to taking it over a 5 year period.
A few years ago one could take it all in one year. Now it is down to 60% can be taken in year one and the other 40% over the next 2. Years. Comes right off of the business income.
None of our wranglers ever qualified as the 392 was the only one heavy enough. Don’t was a pleasant surprise when I looked at the sticker in the door jamb on the Bronco.

With aftermarket skid plates, rock rails and high clearance bumpers: 4980lbs

After switching to 5 M/T's: 5080lbs

Just be glad BMW isnt making them. The new M5 is at 5,390 pounds (building tanks again).

6180 lbs is the GVW, not the actual vehicle weight. The IRS tecognizes a truck for tax purposes as having a GVW of at least 6100 lbs. Different Bronco models and trims have different GVW ratings.

My 2.3 7MT 2dr BL is 5100 on 35s, haven't weighed since I put the 37s on but they should have added about 200lb.

The new BMW M5 is almost 5400. The XM is 6k. I had a 90 diesel F250 on 37s that weighed less!
