How did Goodyear get this contract

First off, getting stuck in a 1/2 of mud doesn't sound right, unless your tires are completely bald. The treads on the OEM 35" tires are more than 1/2 deep.
Second, the MT in the OEM 35s do not stand for MUD, but rather, MAX Traction. This was made clear in the beginning, and was done this way mainly due to road noise and emissions (MPG rating).
And lastly, to answer your question, Goodyear is a reputable tire manufacturer, and 4th largest, but more than likely, I wonder if it was a flex by Ford, that they were able to sway Goodyear to remove the Wrangler text from the tires.

I will post a review this winter to see how the Good year tires perform in a Wyoming winter. 
From watching a few snow wheeling videos the Goodyears are excellent. They also rated fairly good with Trail built.
From a sidewall durability standpoint I’d imagine the Good years would do a bit better with better load rating instead of C. But then would sacrifice onroad manners.

Is there a chance your tires were over-inflated? That could make them spin and not have any decent traction. Did you check your tire pressure before hitting that trail?

I'm going to switch mine out to a different goodyear. Never had a better tire all around (snow being a big one) than my Duratracs
He had me at "Master of None" ........was that Good Year he was stating?

K02 is a great tire but not really that good in mud... also who the hell has a Raptor R?

Jealous.I have one on loan from Ford for an experience program. Great truck!
but yeah with those territory MT. I went through all kinds of shit with those tires including mud at the off roadeo and never had any issues... certainly not as good of a tire as my DuraTracs though.

Had 4700 on mine before I swapped them out with something more aggressive. I honestly had no issues with them. I had no rock throwing issues. Played in plenty of mud, did a lot of climbing and off-roading. No idea why the oems get such a bad rap.

The BFGs are still the best. Least the Goodyear look good.Not a really a rant just a personal disappointment. I don’t get to spend too much time off roading so I don’t have tons of experience but today I did get the Bronco out in some fields/trails and sadly got stuck in a half inch of mud. Props to the design of the Bronco from a recovery standpoint but very disappointed by the mud tires on the Sasquatch package. I had heard mediocre things when it was first discussed Goodyear was spending a ton of money to get picked up by OEM’s to supply tires for vehicles but I didn’t expect them to be this poor performing, granted they really do appear built for being a jack of all trades and master of none.
It’s not a shaming thing at all just was sadly surprised to have ended up in that situation. I feel like having better tires would have suited the Broncos capabilities more and I wouldn’t have wound up stuck. Things happen, not upset. I get to learn the way that’s best for me anyways.
