Currently have a 24 Bronco with soft top, thinking about trading it in for a higher trim level with a hard top. How common are the cracking issues on the latest models? I see videos of the tops cracking and having to be replaced only to have it happen again. Just curious to how widespread this is and if it is a big concern. Thanks

Funny thing is I found several cracks in mine Saturday. I guess I need to contact the dealership and have them look at it. Mine is a 2023 two door.

It is occurring with the 2024's seemingly with the same frequency.

I won't be surprised in the least if we start seeing owners of the 2025's reporting the same issues.

By all accounts here on the forum a very good portion of the reported cracking issues are on 2-doors around the side glass. I've had no issues w/ my '21 4-door.

I think issues with MIC tops is hit or miss. I've not had any issues with my 2022 2dr, but others have had cracks and delamination.

If I had to buy a new one, I'd get one with a MOD top.

Nobody should be purchasing 2025’s without ticking the painted or shadow black option box if you are concerned about hardtop issues. Test your luck if you wish but don’t be surprised if/when the cracks appear.

Yup, Ford should do themselves and the rest of us a favour and stop offering Webasto's MIC hardtop.

That way they can stop the hemorrhaging of new top failures and concentrate on making things right for all of the current owners facing this dilemma.

Only get the painted shadow black top or painted body color top. Don't even waste your time with the MIC.

I'm not messing around with the OEM top anymore. Ford has not fixed the issues with it. You have a nice Bronco, consider the Armadillo Hard top. Mine is:

I've read the painted tops seem like a better quality top, so go with that route. Just to be safe, the MIC tops are being built the same still have problems.

I took my '23 Wildtrak in today for the "TOP REPLACEMENT!" I'm sure it will happen again, but it's in writing, so hopefully Ford will do something when it fails in the future!
