Any ideas what might be causing a hold now days?

We have a deposit down for a dealer ordered 2-door HLE, it's been stuck in some quality control hold for at least 3 or 4 weeks and no insight when it will ship. We've been fine waiting since this dealer gave us the best HLE price within a few hundred miles of us.

Mine was stuck for over 2 months. No official word from Ford, but I suspect it was electronics shortages. My build started in April, but the modules didn't populate until July. Status communication from Ford was poor, the pizza tracker didn't update, and calling and checking didn't ever give any meaningful feedback either. But .... it was worth the wait. I've had it for about a month and love it!

Should be fine. Happened to me over on the jeep side. I read A LOT into it and saw some folks who had to have theirs scrapped and the build started over, but it's likely due to something that is fine or will right itself. Being patient sucks, but no choice.

BTW, when it happened to me with my 392, it took an extra 2 or so months iirc. Same experience as BoldNorth had with Ford: No great answers other than 'sorry, just wait, we'll keep you updated with any changes'.

Ps. I never got updated with any changes.

Thanks! It's been 3 years since I did this tracking stuff. Just found the order number on the window sticker, looks like it's still in Production. Pulled the modules, PCM is blank, can't tell if that's supposed to be populated. Well, this is way more info than I had before, being dealer ordered I didn't know the order number was on the window sticker. Guessing at least two more months to get here?

Some shit never changes does it. I thought mine was bad being stuck in production for three weeks. Some have been stuck there for nearly a year. Ask @Landofcheese !

Now I'm annoyed, paid a deposit being told it's built and loading on the rail. Looking online there are more deals to be had than 6 weeks ago when we started this, confirmed a couple that are actually on the lots.

It happened to me way back in 1985. Special ordered a Mustang GT convertible, red over white 5speed with the optional axle ratio. Ordered as a fleet deal through my employer who bought a ton of Fords. Took about 5 months and when it finally came in it had about 50 miles on it and a label on the glass that stated it had been pulled off the line for emissions laboratory tests and certification. The dealer said relatively uncommon but they’d seen it before. There was no internet or updates in those days, when it got there it got there. Miss that 5.0!

Ooh, last year for the four barrel Holley carburetor. Tell me you didn't get the lower HP auto trans version with EFI...

Forgot to update, not too long after posting this it shipped. So, not too bad of wait compared to what others have experienced.
