Help Wiring 0 gauge

My Bronco is a manual, so it does not have the easy grommet/port on the firewall. It’s used by the clutch. The main wiring harness has a grommet nipple but it is only 1/4in wide… How can I run over 1/2in thick 1/0 gauge wire through the firewall? Anyone have suggestions? Or ideas? Can I go under the vehicle?

I’m considering abandoning this idea and just buying smaller gauge wire.

It will go through that 1/4" nipple. P-Diddy lube will make it easy.

Alright, I ordered a drill bit and grommet. Can anyone recommend an exact spot I should drill? Would be great to get practical advice or pics from someone who has actually done this before. Thanks

Here is a picture of my cable coming from the engine compartment and inside the fender and going into the forwardmost drain hole in the cab. There was a plastic contraption there that was easy to remove.

Thanks! That actually looks pretty simple. Do you have a pic from under hood where you went down the quarter panel? I’m going to give this a shot. It looks like you used one of the passive drain holes not the main drain hole? Does the plastic piece pop out easily?

I guess it being a "passive" drain makes sense. It wasn't under the floor mat they they show in the washout videos. Couldn't get a great picture at the firewall. The cable just rides over the inner fender liner and goes below the brake booster.

You can use that grommet. Plenty of room. Don't go drilling holes in the firewall!

Those drain holes behind the driver seat (and another behind the passenger seat) are really useful. There are also several other grommets in the firewall as well. there is one just above the clutch grommet (much smaller but easily will fit a 0 gage) and there is another on the passenger side almost identical to the clutch pass-through...

Just finished the install. Thanks for suggestions . No drilling. Very easy. I ran the 1/0 wire across the front of the engine along top of the radiator fans, down behind the coolant reservoir, down the passenger wheelwell, then along the frame, and up through the “passive” drain hole right next to the frame body mount. The drain plug popped out easily by pushing it out from underside. The drain hole lines up perfectly with the door trim wiring. You really can’t tell it is under the mat. Glad I ordered 20ft of wire, it barely made it.. wish I ordered 25ft. Tapped into the rear speaker pod and ran a kicker loc2. I also used for-scan to fix bass roll-off. Overall, works great.

Some people will go to near any length to avoid drilling a hole. I got over that. My last car wire install has a nice grommeted hole drilled in the perfect location of my choosing. Drill baby drill.

These people would lose their mind seeing what we did to our bronco with 282 miles on it. Rhymes with shawlzall. And the jack toolbox compartment is now gone.
