Hello all,
I just picked up my 2022 Badlands 2.3 7MT. This car was pretty low mileage, and all stock, with the mid/high pack, I have about 6 months left on warranty.
I ended up having to drive up to Williamsport PA and get it, because apparently every one near Phillie is gearing up for the Super Bowl, and I couldn't get anyone to pick it up and transport it.
Full disclosure, I did not test drive or view any Broncos, much less, the one I purchased, I know that's not the smartest thing to do, but it's worked out for me in the past.
First impression....I Love It!!
It has been about seven years since i've driven a manual transmission. I had 650 miles an about 9.5 hours to figure it all out. I think I spent the first 2 hours grinning like I was 16 and driving by myself for the first time.
Coming out of a BMW X5, sitting on 20's with a sports suspension, I knew that it was not going to ride or handle the same, but I was very impressed with its road manners. I knew the fit/finish and material quality wasn't going to be the same, but to me. It was way better than I had expected based on internet chatter. The interior noise while noticeable was also not as bad as I had expected, way better than just tolerable.
The interior space is great, roomier than I thought it would be. I have a Wife, 3 daughters and 2 golden retrievers, I think this will more than adequately tote us to the Lake or Smokies for some hiking, and with the top off make it way more fun.
Almost as soon as I committed to the purchase, I regreted not finding something with the sasquatch package, but now, I am super happy I stuck with the basic badlands set-up. We are never going to do any aggresive offroading and as a realtor with with mostly an older clientele looking to move into our Lake communities, I think this will be perfect.
So far, the only negative I have found is, somehow the sound system is actually worse than I expected, and I wasn't expecting much based on everything I had read. Coming from a car with 16 speakers, this basic set-up is pretty bad. I have been following some threads and doing some research and it's all a bit overwhelming. Especially when you toss in using forscan ( I'm pretty low tech), but I am looking forward to my 16 year old. And I put together a system and installing it.
Looking forward to learning more and maybe meeting up with anyone in (or visitnig) the Kroxville Area.
Take care.
