Hey y’all. I’ve been a little MIA here cause I’ve been busy working on my latest project (say hellos to my retired FD 95 OBS Bronco).

I got a pair of leather Wildtrack heated seats on a trade and want to mount them in my OBS. Why? Cause they look good, don’t hurt my back and include heated seats plus they have the Bronco logo on them.

I’m trying to wire up the heated seat element and want to retain the 3 stage heaters plus figure out the pin out/amp rating. Does any of our electronic gurus here have access to fords wiring schematic?

Heated Seat Operation

The heated seat system consists of the following components:

  • Seat cushion heater mat
  • Seat backrest heater mat
  • HVAC module (includes heated seat switches)
The driver and passenger heated seat control buttons and indicators are located on the HVAC control module. The heated seat system functions independently of the vehicle's climate control system. Each time the heated seat button is pressed, the system decreases one setting (the sequence is high, med, low and off).

When activated, the HVAC control module supplies voltage to the selected seat heater circuit. Each seat cushion heater mat and backrest heater mat is connected in a series circuit to the HVAC control module and powered by the output circuit for that seat. The HVAC control module monitors inputs from a temperature sensor located in each seat cushion heater mat, and maintains seat temperature by cycling the heater circuits on/off. The heated seat remains on until the heated seat switch button is pressed to cycle the HVAC control module off or the ignition is off.

If a fault is detected by the HVAC control module, the module stops supplying voltage to that individual left or right seat the fault was detected on until the ignition is cycled off and then on.
