Hard top squeaking in the cold

Was wondering if this is normal. Just got our first snow and ice and my hardtop has some ice on top. When driving it squeaks constantly, hoping this is normal because of the ice on top. Thin layer of ice. Thanks

Yea, that’s pretty normal from my experience.

Each year before winter I’ll clean and lube the seals around the vehicle - and it still squeaks during the drive immediately following an icy snow storm. Sometimes after a Carwash as well.

It normally goes away after a day or two

I can sympathize - my knees squeak in the cold too.

Also make sure your spare is torqued to spec. A spare just a wee bit not torqued can squeak, too.

I don’t have snow or ice but cold. It does squeak all the time. I’d say normal.

Mine started squeaking when weather cooled too. I put a small 1/4” thick piece of foam rubber on front panels alignment pins mounting surface…. fixed problem.

I haven't heard this yet, but I've only been driving mine for 2 years...in Canada! lol

Thanks, not the spare wheel. The squeaks are above me on the hard top. Pretty annoying and loud, hopefully it will go away once the ice melts.

Here is a pic of what solved squeaky roof rattle sounding like it’s coming from over outside shoulder???? 1/2” foam rubber and did not pre cut hole for pin, let pin hole itself

Yup. Happens in cold weather. I'd say below 35 deg. Or when ice is up there.

Goes away when it warms up
