The back seat passenger side hard top latch keeps opening on its own. The ones that you turn to secure roof. It must open from bumpy roads. Does anyone know if or how to fix this?

Well, I was going through the car wash, as the blow dryer passed over top of my bronco, the whole back of the midsection of my hard top lifted up almost an inch and I was worried that it was going to get sucked right off of the vehicle. All three latches were turned 90°. I have no idea how the middle one got turned, but I did hang a strap for side door protectors of my dog cradle seat cover, on the side latches which could account for those two rotating from my dogs putting pressure on them while moving around.

Common problem, mine does the same damn thing, I just re-latch it about every other time I drive it and constantly check it when off-road. You'd think Ford would mold those latches with a lip on it to help secure it in place....what a novel idea!

To go anywhere, it is starting to get rediculous. Everytime I start the vehicle I need to do two thing before I start to drive...1) Turn off the Auto- Stop engine button, and 2) get out and go check the kid's latch is closed. I will soon need a checklist so I don't forget anything ;-)

I've been running into this as well. Happens slowly over time, back passenger too. Thinking it is caused by vibration of the subwoofer, as it is on that side of the vehicle.

I've only had it happen twice owning the vehicle since June '24, but started taking pictures just in case that helps whatsoever with a warranty claim. Plus one on the lip to keep the thing latched. I'd rather buy a damn command strip than argue with a dealer.

As soon as life slows down I might take it into dealer to see what they say about it.
