This is the same problem I am having and posted about. Looks like it is a common problem with Wildtraks as I have a WildTrak too. 2024 WildTrak. What was the solution?
I know its an old thread, but I see a few posters were contacted by Ford, was there any resolution?
23 Badlands and I had no issues with this until my dealer replaced the panel under warranty. Now the center drivers latch vibrates itself open. Sometimes over 50 miles of highway. Sometimes 4 miles of gravel, it all depends on the roughness of the ride.
Showed my dealer a time lapsed video and they said that latch was fine but replaced the passenger... They thought maybe it was causing the driver side to experience too much stress. No dice, made no difference whatsoever. Now they won't touch it and a second dealer drove it 10 miles and said it was fine.
Now I'm out of warranty and out of luck, looking to solve it myself. Any solutions or thoughts are appreciated.
I have a 2024 Wildtrak and from day one of purchasing it, the rear passenger side always comes open after a bit of driving. We just leave it open and hope it doesn't fly off. So far so good.
There is a Ford Tech Service Bulletin out on this issue (TSB #25-2433), which is for an improperly-sized ball detent. I have the same issue but haven't taken mine in for the fix yet; I plan to at my next oil change.
