Green smugglers box cover?

Hey, just received my 2 DR BL and getting acquainted.

I noticed that the rear “smugglers” box was green. This is the cover in the back for the jack and stuff.

Strange choice, no other green colored plastic/rubber anywhere that I can see.

Are they all like this?

Related, is this also a cooler?

I'd bring that back to the dealer and mention the off pigment. It shouldn't be that way. It should match all the other gray plastic interior or damn close. Has to be a bad batch from the supplier.

Has to be a bad batch that didn't get the right pigment dye. But if it is a different supplier and harbinger of things to come, then all those that are getting the washout interior for Job2 are going to be pissed.

Well that’s just great; but not unexpected…it’s just so different from the rest of the interior.

My dealer is 1800 miles away in Horsham PA; Bronco was transported down to TX.

I’ll bring it by a local dealer when I have some spare time.

Even if they won't replace it, you should be able to order a new one. I would rather have the peace of mind even if it came out of pocket.

I have seen photos of the forward box being used as a cooler. Great, an uninsulated box next to the muffler, that'll work

I'd just order a rubber cargo area cover. I'll be getting the Mabett version and you can get the matching seat back covers.

Pretty low priority, but I’ll look at the dealer options first.

Cargo liner is a good idea.

It’s a 2 DR BL High that was produced on 14 April. I guess this is carpet on most models.

No. Don't do a swap as suggested with someone that doesn't have the washout. They have a carpet cover and why so many opt for the cargo cover (either Ford accessory or 3rd party).
