Ford Performance Tune - AUTO Stop/Start doesn't stay off

Hey all, newbie here. I just had the performance tune installed this week and am still getting used it. The shifting definitely feels smoother and less trucky. One thing I've read on these forums is that after you get the tune done, the A.S.S. should remain in whatever state you left it in. Mine is being a bit weird. Sometimes it will start up with A.S.S. turned off and STAY off. Other times it goes right back to acting like it always has and turning on at stops. I can't really figure it out. Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong?

Bonus Question: I had a full tank of gas when I had the tune done with 300 miles to empty or whatever. After the tune it now reads 400 miles to empty. The guy at the Ford dealer said this was because they had to "reset the parameters and it will fix itself". I'm on day 3 and it's still looking like I have a huge surplus of miles. Any advice on that as well?

Ford removed that feature. It will no longer save the last setting of the auto start/stop.
Also reprogramming the PCM resets everything, so until it learns how you drive, it resets it to a base estimation for the distance to empty. It can sometimes take up to a tank or 2 to get back to normal.

Can't comment on Auto start/stop. But the distance to empty WILL eventually reset itself. It is based on the last 500 or so miles (not exactly sure on the distance) just like your average fuel economy.

Get the auto start stop eliminator. It works but you may have reset adaptives and relearn. Mine was throwing service 4x4 code until I did this. Now it’s good. I installed my performance tune at the same time as this. After I reset adaptives it helped with the tune as well. That’s when it really woke up!

Hey. I have the Procal tune going on one year now. My build is a 2023 Big Bend 2.7L. Recently, I noticed my ASS would sometimes start turned off and other times it would start with ASS turned on. Every startup it would alternate either on or then off. It drove me mad. I installed the Amazon Start Stop eliminator when I first got the vehicle and It worked great until recently. All I could think of is Ford must have made a change on one of the over the air updates. I knew the Procal tune would remember my last used ASS setting. I played around with Forscan trying to find a way to keep the ASS disabled. Nothing worked so I gave up.

Today I finally decided to remove the Amazon ASS eliminator and just use Procal to control it. I did not see a reason to have two devices that do the same thing I was trying to accomplish. Well. Today I removed the Amazon ASS eliminator and the problem is gone. Meaning ASS stays off during startup but I can turn it on/off by pressing the button. Not sure if this helps you or not but I would say if anyone plans on installing a Procal tune then do not install a start stop eliminator. If you did like I did you might need to remove it and it is much more difficult to remove than to install. Once it clips it locks so you must be very carful to release the clip before pulling on it. In my case I think it was fighting the Procal tune setting for ASS. Time will tell but so far so good
