If you have intelligent access, will the car even lock of it detects the keys are still inside the vehicle?
On my wife's Mazda you can, if you lock from the inside button then shut the door. It won't work by touching the door handle with the fob inside.

Had a junkyard owner open a Sirocco faster than I could get my key out after bragging about antitheft... Lol.

I do understand the concerns - however I, personally, am okay with whatever Ford opts to charge because I do not need to purchase anything I do not want. On my Wildtrak the only things I am adding along with the Lux package are the tube steps, Keypad, storage bags, tow package and canvas bimini . . . now I am sure there will be cheaper versions of all these items (except for the keypad) BUT when will I have them? . . . and I have been assured by my local dealer that anything like this will all be part of the warranty, whereas after-market stuff will not. That being said - I am not likely to get into any rock crawling (or I would not be going the WT route) but I will get into some back roads and this will be a daily driver - 60 miles round trip most days . . . which may alter my opinion . . . and it is just my opinion on the subject! I wish a few things were different but at the end of the day I am stoked about the Bronco and can not wait to drive it off the lot.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't these options also dealer installed and covered under warranty? That may be something to consider also. I think the receiver hitch is a little overpriced but it will come installed and wired for trailer lights and I will need it immediately for the bike rack I'm ordering with it. Plus I wont have to lay under it as soon as I get home and install it and wire it myself.
My thoughts exactly

I can admit I use mine on my Truck often, out in the yard and need something from inside. makes it easy. especially with kids, grabbing a car seat and such. I have a few vehicles tho so if this was my main squeeze and i had keys on me all the time, probably not worth it.
I've had nothing but Fords for years and find the keypad incredibly useful and was really pleased to see it as an option . . . the phone app is great BUT I have been many places where service was poor and being able to punch in the code was perfect. Boating, biking, hiking, etc . . . don't need to worry about losing my keys! Just personally speaking - I think it is great option and am surprised Ford is still the only automaker doing it.

While having not seen them in person yet, I'm in agreement based on what I can see... The question is, what do we go with? What will even be available in a timely manner? I may go to a BL build, but will probably do BD and they're included anyway. I may also be waiting for a 2022 model year to see if Ford gets some of the screwy options better sorted out.

I'll be 40yo when I take delivery of the Bronco. There's something to be said about not laying on the concrete for a couple hours installing a hitch and wiring.

The point is that you would lock everything in your car. Keys phone and everything if you are out in the water or out in the snow and still get back in the car with the keypad. No phone no app
I never go out on the slopes without my phone, might need some help at some point, or find someone who does, as for the water I put everything in a waterproof bag if not in a larger boat. Leaving it in your car is just asking for it to be gone when you get back. A rolled up window stops no one if they want in.

I've been using a diaper for years. Put my keys in a diaper and leave it by my tires. No one picks up or looks in what appears to be a used diaper.

We live very different lives. This is why there are options.

At 64, I was putting a Roush exhaust on my Mustang.

My car is 10 years old and won't lock if it senses the key is inside. Are you implying that the Bronco doesn't have this feature?
Curious because i don't remember if I paid for that feature in 2011 or if its standard on all cars now
Great question, I've done that once (got home from a 3 week trip with key burried in a bag) approached car it unlocked threw everything in and shut the trunk. got to the drivers door, pulled the handle, and it hit me i just locked it in the trunk. Went back to the trunk hit the button and opened right up. I've never had this with ford, so not sure how this will work.

Good thing is, if you download the Ford app, you can unlock your car from your phone
