Hello to all! I just purchased new in the box Focal Performance AS3 component speaker set. Has anyone here used these speakers and if so your thoughts? I have the base sound system with the sub woofer in the right rear. Just a few quick questions.

Will any any of these speakers other than the sub woofer fit in the factory location?

Would any or all of these speakers be a significant upgrade on the base system in my 2024 Badlands 4 door? Without addition of an aftermarket Amp?

While checking the contents of the box I found everything there except the crossover. Necessary and if not order the Focal Crossover or other brand okay?

Depending on the answers if it is over my head I may just sell them.

The set is three way component set with separate woofers, mid range and tweeters. In factory box with everything but crossovers.

Thanks!

The midbass drivers will fit the kick panels, but you will need an adaptor, and the midrange drivers and tweeters will need a custom dash plate. Both can be purchased from MTI Acoustics, but will cost upwards of $450 for everything.

To get signal and power to the speakers without an amplifier, you would need to rewire the kick panel harness from parallel to series, and connect that to the input terminal on the passive crossovers, which will distribute signal and power to the speakers.

Not entirely sure how much output you'd get powering the components with the OEM headunit. In this instance, a 2-way component set would have been a better choice.

From there, you're bypassing the OEM speaker harnesses and wiring each speaker directly to the passive crossover.

Last, you need access to FORScan to disable the factory EQ.

In over your head? Kinda, but it can work.

Powering a 3-way component set with the headunit is not ideal. Micro amps are inexpensive, and all you'd need is a 200W, 2-channel amplifier to send 100W into each of the passive crossovers. You would also need a PAC harness for integration.

Thank you. Yep, a little advanced for me. I have a really good Alpine Amp that I saved years ago. I had an entire system that someone had stolen from my car. They didn't get the amp, as it was bolted under the passenger seat. Back then installing the components was much simpler. The Crutchfield site said that the 6.5 sub would fit in the rear. Would that be an upgrade at all? Thanks again
