Crazy to crush w/o salvaging usable parts first, wondering if it was a publicity stunt or an insurance requirement of some sort…although you’d think an insurance company would want to reduce loss by salvaging everything they could?
..A few years ago my wife's Taurus got totaled...(a new driver who shouldn't have been driving at midnight)..I got 6500.for the car plus 500. more for low miles.....I bought the car back from the insurance company for 500.I sold it to my buddy at his shop for 700..he told me he made a small fortune off all the parts he used...there's always cash to make from parts..

really tough to watch that

However insurance game will not sell parts that are potentially biohazzard, a flood vehicle certainly falls under that category. Thinks lawsuits after someone buys moldy parts then has a respiratory reaction / issue
There are thousands of flood cars out there at auctions. I can't say why some go to auction and others to the scrapper. But after my personal experience with knowing I bought a cheap flood car to work on on my own. Never. Ever. Ever. Freaking. Again. Ever. Period. What a nightmare, and I knew before it was a flood car.

You couldn't pay me to take parts from a flood car.
I wouldn’t want electrical or oil filled

i wouldn’t want anything electrical or any oil filled powertrain parts, but fenders, doors, hood, glass, bumpers, etc.. Just seems that someone would want to make some money off of those kind of parts.

y’all are asking the wrong question. Not “why crush a vehicle with thousands of salable parts still on it”

The question you should be asking is: “What is Ford trying to hide?

Wow, that's a shame I would've taken that throne of V8 in it and made a real cool rig.

Why do I bother recycling my cardboard and pop cans when it’s completely acceptable to crush a car that could have been stripped for parts and largely reused? Watching this hurts. I could have grabbed every panel and door off this thing to keep as backups.
Lol, I always felt I had to do my part recycling and I took it seriously. Every week for years 2 trucks would come on garbage day 1 garbage and 1 recycle. Then my brother got a job at this waste company and told me that it all goes to the same place, that there is no recycling.
Now to this, I wonder if the Bronco is contaminated or something. Why would they crush all those otherwise perfectly good parts?

Let's be real some offroaders will be getting their interiors more soaked in water and mud. Most "flood vehicles" aren't water logged nor submerged especially one as high up as this. It's very likely someone was desperate and overpaid , they had gap insurance and an opportunity presented itself to "bail" out.

Looks like several salvageable parts. What a shame.

I don't know why I watched but now I'm going to be sick. I do have a new sense of confidence in the cardboard MIC top now though.

Not sure what state this was, or what flood event it was related to, but often state authorities require flood vehicles to be crushed to avoid title fraud downstream, so to speak. You know, lifting VINS and washing titles across state lines. This was the order with Katrina back in the day. Typically, catastrophic events with significant volume of flood damaged vehicles. So yeah, given fact that body panels carry VINS, it probably had to be crushed. Or maybe I’m completely wrong about this one.

I'm sure there are others out there that are not being crushed. Should be fairly easy getting your hands on one .Let us know how that V8 thing goes ,lol
