If I place it so it can watch the instrument panel? I have not flat towed yet I am assuming tow mode stays displayed?

The only software fix I know of is the original software update to turn the Brake Boost off as soon as you put the Bronco into tow mode. Once this is installed you will get serval alarms to do with the brake system and collision detect which will go away when you acknowledge them.. You will also get some when you come out of tow mode.
It's best to take your time and follow the instructions in the manual. Also best to not have anyone around when you are doing this.
Note: Tow mode does not stay displayed, only comes on when you open the door.

Just a little FYI. My Bronco is a early 2021 and the battery is starting to go south. I get this messages on my Ford Pass "Remote features disabled to preserve battery" also the Bronco is going into deep sleep every night. When I open the drivers door in the morning no lights come on until I start the engine.
So Just for kicks I put the Bronco in Tow Mode the other evening an left it over night to see what would happen. When I opened the door the dash lights came on and the in Tow Mode message appeared. Also the 4H light was still off on the mode switch. So I assume going into Tow Mode keeps it from going into deep sleep.

Interesting. Mine has been doing some similar though not everyday. I'm still unsure if my battery is really dying, but wonder if I should replace it since I do flat tow and the battery may be mission critical.

I have been thinking the same thing. So I when to Walmart this afternoon and got a EverStart Platinum AGM 4 year battery. My daughter-in-law reminded me that my Bronco sat on Dirt Mountain for close to 4 months, so the battery was going over 3 1/2 years. Probably could have made it a while longer but did not want to take a chance.
Exactly. I checked the Platinum at Wally World the I ther day also. I'm also Dirt Mountain. Sidenote, I usually get tires and Batteries at Walmart, there's always one around, even when out RVing for warranty and their tires techs are as good as any. Never had a problem.
Also, my Big Bend had the smaller battery. I've been thinking of upsizing, but some of my diy wiring might not stretch
and the smaller H6 Wally platinum has more amps than mine anyway.Sponsored

Without going through the hassle of putting Bronco on lift or other. Does anyone know if the front driveshaft still turns or does the front diff disengage in 2wd ? I am thinking of for added insurance disconnecting the rear driveshaft at least.
To the best of my knowledge: Those with 4a (Sasquatch, Badlands Wildtrak and some OBX and BD could option it) have no front axle disconnect so the driveshaft turns. BB and OBX 4.27s don't have FAD either. Raptors have IWE and other part time have FAD so they shouldn't turn. All that said I wouldn't trust the IWE or FAD to be 100%
Mine used to get a lot of these alerts , seems like after a few updates they went away.
all the ford pass alert messages were scrubbed from my message history.

I am no expert but have been paying attention to everything 6G Bronco related since before its release, especially in regards to flat towing one.
I agree with not chancing flat towing with a potentially failing battery. Too many stories of Broncos doing weird things while the battery starts to go bye bye.
I would never drop only the rear driveshaft to flat tow a 6G Bronco even if it has a front axle disconnect (FAD), Because you canât trust the FAD to work as it should either. I used to flat tow my Excursion by dropping only the rear driveshaft but it has Warn manual front hubs. I bought a manual transfer case from an F250 with a neutral because I got tired of crawling under the Ex. We bought a Gladiator and then our Bronco to flat tow before I got around to swapping the Excursionâs T-case.
@Flyer5. What I write next unfortunately will not make you feel any better about flat towing your Bronco. I bought one without 4A because my (and others) forums research indicates that possibly all the Broncos that had flat tow related transmission failures also had the Advanced transfer case (4A). I sleep better knowing mine doesnât and have flat towed it probably close to 10,000 miles since February of 2024.

You're right. I don't feel any better. $60000 plus and it has more impending issues than anything I have ever owned. Granted I have really had no issues so far but it simply cannot do what they claim it can. Then their software is causing transmission damage and they refuse to cover it. Anyone want a low milage Badlands SAS ????
