not to be picky....but have they?

My impression is MIC 2.0 is intended to remedy the flat panel cuts which leave untreated surface...and also to finish with a heavier final coat to remedy the snakeskin.

I'd really like to be proven wrong....anyone else have additional info??
well, for the longest time, the narrative has been "Look over there! it's webasto screwing everything up!" and now they've finally admitted "Ooooooooook, I guess that was a bad design that we told them to build...."

I doubt that... testing a vehicle for leaks takes a long time.

the design is tested over and over, and then the assumption is that the production units will behave similarly.

they might take a few random samples to verify every now and then.

either the parts are so out of spec that seals arent closing up, or the testing missed something.
I work at an F150 plant and they're all taken through a leak test.

Looks cosmetic. 🤔🙄. Have you had any rattling?

No “rattling” per se. There’s a minor creaking sound that I believe is from the quarter turn locks on the roof panel, the way the lock material and the plate it touches interact. That didn’t start until I had at least 300 miles, Im at 1300 now

And that's the reason they are all recalled. I though all vehicles were subject to a water test at the factory to check for leaks?
Nope, leak testing occurs at Dirt Mountain!

A leak is not important unless the owner thinks it is. Complains a lot and can prove it leaks, and is willing to leave it for several days for the mechanics to test drive while they look for the leak. .

Completely known issue. Ford fed-exed tarps to people a week or so ago as a temp roof solution. For some reason everyone thought they were hammocks.

For real, second Malts comment. Double check the simple things such as the seals seated properly and runoff channels free of dirt/debris. Not to say there shouldn't be stronger tolerances, but could help identify if fitment issue or other defect. Either way, it sounds more and more like the Bronco does not like rain. Maybe a cat name like Cougar is more appropriate?

Ford is just making sure any ‘20+ Explorer owners have a sense of familiarity when they take delivery of their Broncos with roof leaks.

Ford needs to include full car covers for Dirt Mountain Bronco's while they sit. I'm sure a couple hundred dollar car cover is cheaper than having a water damaged interior.

The JK's roofs leak. Mine doesn't and I don't mess with it. I tell people that Wranglers were not designed to be driven in the rain.

Welp……. I guess it was bound to happen, and given the replacement program I guess I’m not too concerned.
A few days after taking delivery I THOUGHT I felt a drip on my left knee driving down the highway, but it was late, dark and not the place to try to figure it out.
Today, hopped in and hit the road during steady, sometimes heavy rain(affects of hurricane Henri). As soon as I was out of the driveway water started dripping from the seam on the trim over the top of the drivers door, towards the front, but not into the A-pillar(who knows if it’s puddling anywhere internally).
Both times I had been parked on a steep incline(girlfriends driveway is STEEP)-front of the truck higher than the rear. The dripping didn’t started until I was headed down hill, as all the water would have shifted to the front of the car from the rear.

My question is whether I need to worry about any damage to the airbags or if there are any other electrical lines up there

most had come out by now but here’s a picture

This looks similar to my A-Pillar Leak.

It’s not a roof issue though.
It’s a defective part a major design oversight. Ford refused to listen to me or let me demo it on another vehicle. It’s going to take this happening on all the vehicles for them to finally realize they have an issue.

Yup. Bad press will accelerate a resolution.

I hope FoMoCo includes a "new car smell" air freshener to cover up 3 months of mildew. It was hot and steamy in the D today. Supposed to be all week in fact.
