I'm sure this has been posted on here a thousand times, so I don't have much to add other than: I purchased it, I installed it, and it took maybe 10 minutes.
Quick tip: do NOT add the dealer add-on. I only added the dealer install option because I was already scheduled to go in for my state inspection and emissions inspection, and I just hit 15k miles (engine is finally broken in) so I figured why not get it all done in one trip. Normally I would install myself but it seemed convenient at the time.
Well, when it arrived they called me and said I needed to pick it up first, because it requires you to log in to your Ford Performance Account and use the voucher number in the package to link to your account. My dealer said they've struggled to install these in the past (meaning they really need the client's laptop there to do the install). It's not a difficult install at all. Part of me thinks that corporate just did not understand what the install was like and coded it as something the dealer could do and slapped a price on it. It's around $114, but again it takes 10 minutes at home and the dealer really can't do it without your laptop.
I ended up installing it myself since I had to make a special trip to pick it up anyway and we had a snow day. Watching YouTube videos it seemed pretty straightforward. Currently working on getting a refund for that install fee.
Anyways, the performance boost is really noticeable in Normal and Eco mode. I used to use Eco exclusively for off ramps from the highway to help come to a stop. Normal was for bopping around town up till 45mph. Anything above 45mph I'd switch to Sport. Eco was used for places like my apartment complex which is 15mph, but Eco and Normal always had this issue at stop signs where if you 'babied' the acceleration you'd feel a noticeable kick between 1st and 2nd. I've even had passengers think the car died in intersections because the kick is so noticeable and it drags and goes so slow.
This tune completely fixes that. Again I wouldn't say it's the mother of all tunes, but for a non-warranty-voiding tune it's great. Eco is so peppy it may be my new around-the-town mode. Normal from a dead stop to merging onto a highway at 55 to 65 is excellent (previously needed Sport for that). And Sport is now an extra fun fast mode that isn't necessarily needed for highways like before.
I will say for me 90% of this tune is noticeable in how it shifts and 10% in the performance. Kinda a shame the Bronco ships the way it does; this tune feels essential for me just to make the shifting smoother. Should've came this way.
Also for those who don't know, the tune itself only runs about $400. The problem is you HAVE to buy the Ford Performance module which is another $400. I'll never use the dumb box again unless going back to stock programming. They do offer "just the software" on Ford Performance but beware you absolutely 100% need the module. It even says so on the listing. For $800 it's a bit steep, but I can't lie I am well pleased nonetheless. Nothing to run out for, but if you can spare the cash, I'd check it off as a low-hanging fruit.
