The 4" in front make a big difference in midrange and high freq performance. Vocals are much better and it's just cleaner and clearer...
Good to know. I know those are easy to get in/out, so I'll see what happens. If I can spread this out into multiple projects, it just means I get some peace/quiet in the garage with a few barley pops more than 1 time. LOL. I can probably spread this out into 3-4 evening projects.

Thanks. Just ordered the amp and woofer.

I did as well ....One Day prime delivery on the sub....hopefully the amp doesn't take to long while I have it all apart.

I have my rear passenger Trim panel off to wire my license plate relocation bra k LED and some LED pods for a new rear bumper, my Bronco Window sticker shows I have the 6 speaker delete...so got the fake amp and sub.

While Iam in there is there a plug n play replacement to stick in there besides OEM?

Do yourself a favor and dynamat or KillMat the entire backside of the plastic trim panel and the metal inner fender behind the sub enclosure while you have it all tore apart. You will not regret it.

Is there a good YouTube video on this process out there? Thanks in advance.

Basically clean area with alcohol , peel and stick with firm pressure .

This is the areas I did with KillMat and the greyed out area of the trim panel since I did not get a pic of that . Prevents any rattles from the subwoofer and deadens the outside noise from the inner fender area.

I did the same in my 4 door Heritage and completely agree.

I went on to replace the 4" dash speakers with Infinity Reference with 600Hz bass blockers and the rear pod speakers with the same without bass blockers and it made another substantial difference. I'm pretty happy with the sound now.

Disclaimer - I'm old and have abused my ears with loud music, firearms and loud machinery.
Reason for bass blockers only on the dash speakers and not rear pods? What if you don't do any bass blockers? What if you had bass blockers on the rear pods also?

Cheers

Just the front if you don't do any other changes in Forscan. There is a high pass filter in the programming already for the rear.
What is the outcome if you don't put bass blockers on replacement dash speakers?

The Fusion Amp and Kicker 6.75in sub mentioned is def as simple and a great improvement over the factory 6spk setup.

I went a little bit different route and installed a 8in Kicker 4ohm in the sub location as some others have done, Kilmat behind the int trim and along the inner quarter panel, an MB Quart NA2-400.1 amp and some Kicker CS series for the dash/ kick panels/ rear pods. No ForeScan needed and is 100x better than it was.

At higher volumes you can over extend the drivers and they pop and distort. The bass blockers allow you to drive the speakers harder without distortion.

I bought this sound deadening mats off Amazon to cover the back area of the hard top that did not have the factory sound deadening, I was going to do the cargo floor while I had the plastic out..I will do the back side of the trim panel and fender as well.

Not sure how good this stuff is but I guess its better than nothing.

Ok thanks i'll get some for the front dash then. I've done the Fusion amp and Kicker sub. Now that I'm liking the sound, I'm going to swap all the speakers (dash, kick panel, pods), because why not. :)

Question - in FORScan, it allows you to set to "Tweeter" only instead of "Tweeter and Speaker"... would this have same effect as a bass blocker (which I assume is some sort of high pass filter)... ?

No, the tweeter/speaker setting is to tell the amp you are running more than 1 speaker on the channel and it's going to cause a low impedance. Like we have up front... If you changed that to just tweeter, or just speaker, you would tell the amp we have higher impedance than what we have.

The Forscan EQ setting is what puts the filter on the rear speakers or not. When you pull the stock front dash 4", you will see they have a capacitor on them (bass blocker) from the factory.
