If the swaybar disconnect doesn't matter and lux features don't matter, why compare a Badlands? Check out the Black Diamond with the 2.7 and get what you want.
Reason being is we had a Badlands on order. Also, when I build a Black diamond, with sasquatch, tow, MIC top, mid package, Roof rails and 2.7, it puts it at almost $62k. Totally not worth it and would wait for the Badlands in that case. Plus I hate the blue in the Black diamond interior. Ultimately, the only reason we have been considering the Everglades is it sure seems like the most bang for the buck out of ANY of the Broncos for the cost. You get a lot of features on it and add ons, and still cheaper than a similarly loaded black diamond. Ultimately, the price point for what you get makes the Everglades seem like a great option, even if it comes with the 2.3.

24 is horrible from Kentucky to GA lol

I’ve took mine up some pretty steep hills at LBL and never once thought I needed more power.
Have yet to make it to Windrock as I’ve never been there and don’t wanna try it solo.

No issues with any of the trails over in the mountains if that helps ya.

I’m kinda with @userdude tho, and it sounds like you should just go with the 2.7
Could not agree more! Maybe a little bit of the stretch between Murfreesboro and Chattanooga it gets a little better, but I still hate that interstate more than just about anything. Especially heading into Nashville ( I live south of Murfreesboro).

And we could definitely plan a meet up to hit some trails sometime, maybe try out Coalmont as well.

Glad to hear the 2.3 worked out well at LBL. Some of those hills can be a steep, with a lot of loose rock. So thats great to hear. And honestly, this will be for my wife. I just want to make sure that when we do take it out, its not going to be a dog. I know its no 2.7, just would still want it to perform well in the terrain around us we 4 wheel in. If this was for me and me alone, not chance I would get the 2.3 over the 2.7 and would be waiting for my order to get in. But feel the 2.3 still has a solid place in the line up.

The Black Diamond comes out at 62k - that's crazy and makes no sense. You really have to wonder how Ford comes up with these numbers.
And I completely agree with your assessment.

I don't see many everglade models at dealerships. I happened to come across my 24 at a local dealer.

I love it with all the extras it comes with for the price. I came from Wranglers, Gladiators. I also had a Ranger Tremor and a Colorado ZR2.

The only things I added so far are the red tow hooks in the rear, sill guards, winch cover, and Ford Performance diff cover.

The only thing I would trade my everglades for is a BRaptor if I could afford it.

Yeah, it would be right around $62 and some change. And thats if they allowed me to add the $600 slide out tailgate and the hoop steps that the Everglades Im looking at comes with. So definitely doesnt seem to be worth in that regard. And I think Ford just makes shit up with any of these models and configurations. Its almost like the models with the least amount of options (Everglades for example) is the best value. Theres like 4 options you can add to the Everglades. Floor liners, hoop steps and tow package. Other than that, you get what you get there.

If you already have doubts about the 2.3, then I'd stick with your original order and get the 2.7. I had an underpowered F150 that I bought on a whim and regretted it, almost daily. I can't comment on the 2.7 in the Bronco as I've never driven one, but I'm sure it's much quicker than the 2.3 in my Base.

I completely agree. The pricing and what you get is exactly why we are considering it. You get so much for the price compared to any of the other models. Im really glad you like yours! And the one we would be looking at is the same color. Eruption green on that package is absolutely the best color choice. I liked that Desert sand color they did for a short run, but I like the green even better. Just seems to go with the package perfectly.

As far as the Braptor goes....I have a love hate for the idea of them. No doubt they are a superior Bronco than all the Broncos as far as performance, suspension, and pretty much everywhere. However, for the STUPID price point, you could have a F150 Raptor brand new with the 37s package which is insanity. The initial price of the Raptor in the $70s was the right move and would have been worth it. Its just not $90-100K vehicle by any means. Not to mention the absolutely god awful looking fender flares they put on them. Painted or not, bad design and hard to look at. And where I live in the southeast, that thing would be super hard to fit down any trails and would be ripping them ugly flares off constantly.

Kind've what Im thinking. But also, it will be my wifes daily. So at the end of the day if shes happy, I guess thats all that matters. The dealer we would be getting it from is getting that Everglades in from another dealer. So will go test drive it tomorrow to see how it compares to the 2.7. I have low expectations. Who knows, maybe thats a good thing and will actually impress me cause of having low expectations!

You're really comparing apples to donuts here. MY OPINION ONLY: I won't be buying any other Bronco that doesn't include the 360 camera because it has been incredible. High/LUX gets you the 360 degree camera, which you cannot get on the Everglades and that is the ultimate travesty. I think the best bang for buck is a 2.3 Badlands with High/LUX if your going to rock crawl, hit dirt trails and do water crossings (Everglades still better in water). The 2.7 comes with transmission support brackets that hang low and get caught on rocks, while the 2.3 does not. The Everglades is the BEST LOOKING Bronco by a long margin (again, my Opinion) and would be my go-to choice if I could get it with the 360 camera and 2-doors.

You probably already know, but just in case, the factory hoop steps are not rated to hold the vehicle weight like the rock rails.

We currently have 3 6G Broncos in our family: a 2DR with the 2.3L & FP tune, a 4DR HEL with the 2.7L, and a Raptor with the 3.0L.

I've put almost 40K miles on the 2.3L across all the terrains you've mentioned and absolutely love it. I agree with @userdude. I've never felt that it lacks power in any situation and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. I've thoroughly enjoyed it so far.

If I did buy another Bronco with the 2.3L, I'd definitely buy the FP tune for it. It made a big difference.

This is a good point and I had forgotten about that. The Everglades does not have the 360 camera, because it does have the front camera. That does sort of suck because I do love my front camera.

I have had no interest in the Everglades because it is 4dr & 4cyl only, so really can’t comment on it…but do like the square fenders like heritage (which I think is the best bang for the buck)…while the 2.3 may have adequate power (“good enough“ as folks say)… I have never had a vehicle with “too much power” (lots of performance vehicles) and 100 ft lbs is nothing to sneeze at…2.7 was one of my 3 ”must haves” ( 2dr & Sasquatch)…my 2dr 2.7 with performance tune is ok but not overwhelming in any way…get the 2.7, you know what ya want…my other point is on the sway bar…I know of only 1 manual disconnect and it has had terrible reviews (noise & hard to connect/disconnect)…IFS is not like Jeep world…there are some other options out there but they are really just weaker bars imho and expensive…the badlands unit is the best option imho and I have one in the garage I will be installing soon…good luck with your search/decision...

And if you ever take the 2.3L to any sand dunes, I bet it would do way worse than a 2.7L.
My sole off-road use is beach driving. Sometimes some pretty soft and deep sand. 2.3 does just fine. A couple of enthusiasts driving 1980s Defenders on beaches near me. What are they? 125hp if that? They do just fine.

I find it interesting that a 2.3 with a Ford Performance Tune outran a 2.7 Roush in this YT vid (run starts at 4:50).

No, not a certified, sanctioned test. However, somewhat compelling anecdotal evidence that a 2.3 does have the potential to rise above "turd" status (quoting the OP)---lol!
