Badlands or Wildtrak?

We have both. 2021 BL Sasquatch and 2023 WT. Wife loves the WT due to the Fox shocks eating up the bumps softer than the Bilstein shocks. She also prefers the leather where I prefer the MGV. One thing odd though, we took both from Dallas to the Smoky Mountains. She got a little over 1 MPG better than I did. I keep my tires around 35-37 PSI and she's at 40 PSI so that may have contributed to it.

The electric sway bar disconnect is pretty heavy. Badlands will have a steel rear bumper vs. the Wildtrak plastic rear bumper. Badlands will have the full set of steel bash plates as well. Badlands just flat out weighs more.

Go with Wildtrak if you want the best.
If for some reason the swaybar disconnect will make a difference in the 1% of time spent offroading, then downgrade to the Badlands. Either way it will still be a decent ride.

A lot of those threads are early on, prior to the HOSS 3.0 being an option or now the standard for the Wildtrak. Because of the changes in the Wildtrak, I’d say most of those threads are probably dated at this point…..Just saying

No, the rear bumpers are not new. The Capable bumper being standard on the Wildtrak with the HOSS 3.0 was new for 2023. However if you want the full vehicle steel bash plates, then you have to have the Modular bumper.

I agree with you, that a new thread because of changes are warranted. HOSS 3.0 was a game changer for stock Broncos.

I thought it was always that way. Badlands and Black Diamond got the powder coated steel rear bumper and rock rails (since removed from Black Diamond I think). Wildtrak rear bumper has always been plastic and doesn't come factory with rock rails.

If you want to do any rock climbing, Badlands. Sway Bar Disconnect and full armor on the underside. Wildtrack if you want to have the weird interior and don't need armor. You can make either one work with aftermarket, depending on what you want. I don't trust either steering rack in extreme conditions. That's why I have a Badlands with a 74 weld steering rack on order!

How much is the 74 Weld steering rack? My understanding is that they use the same internals. Can you verify that one way or another?

I purchased a new rack with HOSS 3.0 internals and tie rods. That is just because that is the only thing they are offering right now. Honestly, it's the housings that are the weak part I don't recall any internal components failing on the HOSS 2.0. If they had that unit ready (supposedly coming in the future) I would have gone that route. Purchased from Exodus 4X4 for $4900

Watching this video https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...co-for-jefe-on-matts-off-road-recovery.70598/ shows a Wildtrak with Modular bumper, a plastic rear bumper and no gas tank skid. I don't see any yellow SAS shocks, so I may be assuming it was a HOSS 3.0, but I could be wrong.
