Driver Display suddenly changed to Foreign Language

I just had the 4.2.2.3 Power-Up update done on my outer banks and things definitely seem completely broken. While driving and having my apple car play working fine, it suddenly disconnected completely. Then my entertainment and driver screens switched to what I believe are mandarin (chinese) symbols. Eventually my phone will reconnect and it’ll switch itself back to English. Has anyone else had this happen? It happened to me twice yesterday.

On a serious note: As much as we all want to defend @Ford Motor Company and their Updates… they continually manage to bug up, brick up, and fuck up routinely.

We ask for the ability to customize the dash, change the turbo kpa to psi, tweak the colours or configure the tach in a traditional sweep style… how about ditch lights over 5mph with a manual toggle? How about a toggle to drop the TPMS for winter roads or low psi wheeling?

They’ve yet to offer any legit OTA upgrades to these vehicle's that are noticeable to the owners… apart from having to reset the sound and light settings after each update.

It’s truly a wasted opportunity that has yet to show any benefit.

Yeah, im not really shocked theres been so many issues with how quick production releases are getting made. I’ve never worked on the automotive side of software but I imagine its a nightmare as an engineer. Really wish they used open source software tho so i could try and fix it on my own.

Had the exact problem yesterday. I was on the tail end of 2500mile road trip. For a few hours the dash was in a foreign language. Cleared up after a while.

join the forscan forum and get in with the gurus. also Bosch has a private forum of programmers too somewhere . they do all of the software work for Ford.

Oh interesting, it is 4.2.2.3 so i wonder if I was a Guinea pig for a patch they think is causing issues in 4.2.3
