Dare I ask, what can you possibly like about it? I suppose you like it when you walk past a car that doesn't know how to use the auto door lock button inside the car and instead gives you the nice honk just as you're walking past.....

Have you heard of meditation? Perhaps some deep breathing exercises? A double honk to let you know your doors are back on and connected shouldn't drive you nuts.

Show us on the doll where the bad person touched you...
Congratulations on Post of the Month! Look for this in your mailbox soon!

I'm wondering why Ford won't just disable this stupid thing. Does any ONE like it? Even one?
I don't like when manufacturers use the horn for things like an audible confirmation of door locking, etc. It's a pretty obnoxious solution to a situation. The better manufacturers have a much quieter notification that doesn't use the horn that I'd bet most people wouldn't mind. Even if Ford didn't want to pay for the second little speaker, I'd be willing to buy and install my own if they made a way to use it, like leaving a connector under the hood and when it's connected, the software routes obnoxious beeps to it instead. Or add it to the Lux package. :D

The double honk is normally caused by closing the door with the power on when the key fob is not inside the vehicle. Try leaving the key fob inside the vehicle when reconnecting the doors.

I agree with the obnoxious double honk but it has nothing to do with "better manufactures". Ford has plenty of quieter notifications that do not use the horn. In a way it makes sense because you certainly don't want to exit your vehicle with the engine running in Chicago or Los Angeles. Its not an issue where I live and I prefer not to have the honk, but its very rare anyway. How many times are are you exiting the vehicle with the power on? I have Forscan but its not worth messing. Much more annoying is all the other "automatic" BS all vehicles have from a "better manufacturer" or not. For example when you turn the temp control all the way down the AC comes on. If I wanted AC I would push the AC button! Same with the recirc button! Let me control it! Just what is this "better manufacture"? You mean the European models that break more often and cost twice as much to fix? No thanks! Maybe Toyota in years past, but honestly I'm glad I didn't get a Toyota this time.

I'm referring to the double-honk when you double-click the fob to lock the car, the double-honk if you leave the car on when you exit the vehicle, the double-honk if you lock the car with the key in it when you close the door, and all of the other double-honks I can't remember. The first one is the worst, because it's what almost everyone does in every parking lot. Other manufacturers have figured out that a quiet chirp is just as effective, yet (statistically proven ;) ) to be 98% less annoying.

I think For[d]Scan is worth using once to set all of the features the way you want (which wouldn't be necessary if Ford would just put those in the Settings menu, along with other missing features). That's what I did, anyway. Not exactly convenient, but for a one-time use, it's a decent ROI.

First and foremost I'd like to thank my parents, for always believing in me. My wife, who stood by me during the hard times, and all of you fans who voted for me. I love each and every one of you.

You left out the double honk when you leave the door open, Bronco running...to do something, grab mail, open or close the top, reach into the back, etc. And it's always 5 or 6 in the morning.

After four years I didn't know double clicking the lock button causes the honk, I had to try it after reading your post. Anyway I agree when it happens unexpectedly it can scare the crap out of you. The Bronco does have a nice loud dual note horn.
