Does anyone else have trouble getting the doors to lock with the "buttons" on the handles? They only work about half the time. When it's acting up none of the doors will do it so I know it's not just a single button malfunction.

I've come to learn it's not so much a button as it is a sensor.

So instead of trying to push it, I just wave my hand over it, and this seems to working much much better.

I don’t have my Bronco yet but I asked about them being on the wrong end of the handle. Someone informed me that there is a sensor on the handle where you put your fingers that unlocks the door.

The unlocking is flawless and works like you describe. I just can't get the thing to re-lock after exiting a lot of times.

I'll try that.

My bad, I read that as unlock in the original post.

Noticed ours started acting up after getting a bunch of snow/ice on it this weekend. It’s pretty tricky so you don’t wrap any fingers around the door handle (for the unlock) and confuse the system.

All door handle locks except for the driver door get disabled automatically when the battery level is low

It seems like maybe your key fob has to be pretty close to the handle. I once tried to lock it with an outstretched left hand, and the fob in my right pocket, and it didn’t lock. When I turned closer to the door, it worked. Maybe that’s a thing?

Have you tried it with your spare fob? Maybe it needs to be re-paired?

I don't think that's what is causing this but good to know.

My driver's side sensor has been buggy since the day I got it. Typically takes 3-4 presses to get it to lock. Passenger and trunk sensors are one touch lock. At some point I'll take it to the dealer and have them look.

You might be on to something.

So it seems to be this was where I was going wrong. I've been making it a point not to wrap my fingers and it's been working ever since.

If a soft top Bronco, I would advise against using the door locks.
