I see. Yes, well it definitely came with it, new from the dealer, so it seems to be something they installed. That particular dealer is not local to me so I have not been back to it since.
Call or email them and inquire about it. If its something they did they should have some kind of record. Aside from that Id go the closest dealer and talk to them. Tell them it was there when you bought it but didnt think anything of it till you realized that no other Broncos have them. I wouldnt think they would charge much to go in and trace the wiring. My local dealer is 160/hr probably take an hour or 2 max. If youre a loyal customer and its quick and easy they may not even charge you.

Just to clarify all the guesses here.

My dealer installed the same one (looks slightly different, maybe different brand, but nearly the same) on my Bronco I bought new in 2021. It is an aftermarket kill switch, I deleted the app since I can track it in Ford app anyways, so I forget the brand name, although I still have the paperwork here somewhere. They installed it when they were doing (cheap) ceramic coating when new as part of the 10 yr/100 mile warranty I opted to go with.

It bugs me and scrapes my shin when I wear shorts.

Does it have two pairs of wire leads and a button on the back? If so, then it is a dealer installed car alarm. Historically, unscrupulous dealers installed these en masse and expected every buyer to be a sucker and pay for it at time of purchase. When declined, they just didn't give out the alarm's key fobs. They are difficult to remove and will eventually cause intermittent problems on an aging vehicle.

Below are images of a valet/programming switch/LED on 04-08 F150 with the OEM Ford/Code Alarm dealer installed.

I had a gps tracker on my badlands from the dealer. They wouldn’t remove it, but he did “discount” a large portion of the price. I found a YouTube video on how to remove. The original obd port was removed from bracket, zip tied and plugged in and a second obd port was plugged back into the bracket. The gizmo was hidden zip tied not to far up under dash. I was glad to have that out.

About a year and a half now. I bought at puente Hills ford
OMG Puente Hills Ford!!!

That brings back memories. I grew up in Hacienda Heights and lived near the corner of Colima and Hacienda Blvd and worked at the Shell station there all through high school when it was a full service gas station.

Is the "back to the future" mall still there at Azusa and Colima? I figured they might have bulldozed it by now...

Actually 1 out of 5 people can still drive a stick... according to the WSJ (it is behind a firewall but the first paragraph is readable and has the stats). I was suprised it was that high, probably because us Boomers all know how to drive stick but we are dying out fast...

I'm at the younger side of the Gen Xers and a good majority of us drove manuals. Plus in almost every foreign country I've been to, manual transmission is the norm.
