So the rear locker (aka rear locking differential) allows you to lock the rear differential when you are on loose surfaces or when one of the rear wheels have completely lost contact with the ground. When locked, it causes both rear wheels to spin at the same speed.Excuse my ignorance but what exactly is a rear locker and what will it do for me? I really wish they offered the 4A on either the base (without SAS) or the BB![]()
By contrast, open differentials will not be able to put power to the ground without using some form of traction control strategy involving the use of the vehicle brakes.
You can get a rear locking differential in some Broncos without 4A, but you cannot get 4A without the rear locking differential. The one other thing that I appreciate more in the OBX trim than any other trim is the cloth seat material is nicer than the other trims in my opinion. The last thing that I would recommend is that you try to find a Bronco that you like on a dealer lot, because the recent price hike is ridiculous. Better to not have to pay for the impact of recent inflationary forces and let someone else take that hit.
