I gave up. Haha. Full winter with snow, salt and everything that goes with it and not once did I feel I needed a wiper or defroster.

@RustyBronc - I have gone through the steps above minus the temperature control screen. I was able to have the dealership install the supported steering column control module (M2DZ-3F791-CB) but it doesn't seem that power is going to the wiring assembly (M2DZ-15A657-A). Any suggestions to check?

I'd swap everything over to match the hard top model in your trim, including hvac controls. Also, check that any required fuses are installed.

I think we've concluded that you need to swap the HVAC controller with the rear glass defroster and program it. If you had functional side mirrors before and you buy the module for heated mirrors and rear defrost, and program it, you should be fine.
I got a little excited and removed the old HVAC controller. Installation of the new one was a breeze. Then I reread your post. Certain functions don’t work with the new one in. Can I just have the dealer program the new one in? Do I have to remove the old in FDRS first?

I would have ran a PMI procedure when installing. Try running a module configuration and report back.

Ford Dealership couldn’t get it to work. The technician tried several different ways and this is a print out of the error message.

It looks like the same error the guys were getting when trying to swap the HOSS 3.0 rack to a non HOSS 3.0 vehicle. In their case, they loaded up a HOSS 3.0 VIN in forscan, programmed with FDRS, then swapped back the VIN. Can you get your hands on a VIN for a similar trimmed 2021 badlands with a hard top and try that approach?
